Break it into smaller pieces and haul out. This is a 45" CRT monster circa 2001. About as big an HDTV one could buy in that era without going to a rear projection TV or a plasma (back when those things ran $3k and up). Also because the room has 9 63" awning windows, needed a traditional set that wouldn't be washed out by sunlight. And because it's a screened in room, I wanted something so heavy a would-be thief would say, "fuck that," and move along to an easier mark. Been a good set ... had a good run.
The reason this is in the pet peeve thread is that now that it's dead, I've got to move it. This thing weighs nearly 150 lbs, and I'm married with four children so of course I've got no friends anymore to help me.
Might just have to Jeff Foxworthy it and put a working TV set on top of it for awhile.
Agreed. Perfect "excuse" to go snag a 20V cordless sawzall.Break it into smaller pieces and haul out.

Come on. Carter's in Roseville all the way.....at Stambaughs on Maple.
Being bull[Mark May]ted. That's a pet peeve.
Harking back to an earlier post of mine, the construction beside my home has started.
One morning this week, one of the monster machines was running across from my front windows and I realized the metal frame on my living room TV and the kitchen range hood were rattling--both resonating along with the deep vibration from the motor.
Prior to beginning work, a community meeting was held by management of the company bankrolling the construction. I distinctly remember someone asking them what times we could expect them to be working, and I really regret I did not record the meeting, because I'm certain we were told something like "Oh, it will be normal work hours" and I thought she said something like 7:30-3:30. Well, not only are the bastards regularly out here until nearly 7PM, but now my Saturday morning began to the sound of their damn bulldozers. So, now we don't even get weekends to recuperate.
And, yes, I'm looking for somewhere else to live.
I've had to look at a couple properties in my area that had road work or construction outside their home and now their homes are experiencing damages from settling. All that heavy equipment and impact can disrupt and cause ground movement below the surface so keep an eye out!
