Game Thread Penn State vs tOSU, Sat Nov 13, 3:30 ET ABC/ESPN

Really, we're still going on about the boos? When a team like OSU that wins most every game gets down against an underdog like that, the boobirds will come out. It happens in Columbus, Ann Arbor, Tuscaloosa, Knoxville, LA, everywhere, at all levels (HS not so much, but I have seen it at larger schools). Its a fact of life in the world of sports, and we should all know it. Doesn't mean we have to like it, but to carry on about it for what, 4+ pages now...forget it and move on.

Way to turn around a game that we came out absolutely flat for. Bye weeks are a double-edged sword for us. I don't know if we could have run the gauntlet of the last 3 games without a week to get people rested. On the other hand, we seem to have a troubling trend of coming out of the bye week flat.

Watching it on DVR. 1 minute into the game, they show an overhead camera view on a replay of Boom's 14-yard run. Before the snap, Pryor is in the shotgun, in between Boom and B-Saine. The very clear view of the jersey numbers from overhead, with the players side-by-side:

1.....2.....3

Greenies for somebody that posts a screen-shot of that.

That would be all well and good if it wasn't such bullshit.

When is the last time you remember the Buckeyes getting booed at home? Take some time to think about it.

You can't remember, can you? It says two things about this fanbase and this team.

1. There's a level of success that has made fans expect the best out of their team any given Saturday.

2. There's a level of arrogance that has come from this success and has apparently given a lot of fans the wrong idea about how to support their team.

Whether or not it's "part of the game" doesn't change the fact that it's disgusting and unacceptable.

Perhaps by the same method you used when you stated categorically what the fans were booing?

But has been stated, based on postgame comments the perception of the players was that the fans were booing them. Therefore, in the players' minds, the fans were booing them. Of that there is no doubt.

And no matter how deeply offensive you and some others may find booing, it doesn't change the fact that opinions aren't facts.

From the players quotes it seems several took the "no big deal, we played like crap, I'd boo me too" view of it and one took it fairly personal. Seems like a pretty good sample of how a larger group, say this one, would handle it.

It also says a third thing regarding alcohol intake levels.

Now, I'm not saying that people shouldn't drink at a game, but I can tell you at the tailgate I was at the that the "fans" who were expressing the most disgust at the end of the half had been drinking since 9am. The reasonable fans were sober.

I was at the game and, other than the girl behind us spilling soda all over our seats, it was a great game. Best half of football from the Bucks I've seen in a long time.

I said to my son-in-law at the half that Coach Tressel had PSU right where he wanted them. I think that Tress does what Woody used to do; play the game close to the vest (no pun intended) during the first half and come out with the "real" game plan at the start of the second. Doesn't allow the other team to react as effectively since they've got to do it on the fly. Other than the long run around the right side (when Hankins was clearly being held), State Penn didn't do a whole lot. McGloin was exposed as the poser he is.

Um, nice try. I stated that when you boo the playcalling that you are also booing the team, because the two cannot be separated.

Since you seem to have such a good grasp on the situation, perhaps you can tell me exactly what playcall was being booed as the team left the field at the end of the half? I didn't see any play being run at that time, but then again I obviously lack your perception.

Might as well chime in on this since everyone else apparently is. I don't like booing my peers. In the end of the day, that's what our football team is to me. Those are my friends, classmates, and neighbors. I wouldn't boo the kids at my high school when I went there for the same reason. I just think it's poor form to boo non-professional athletes. What does that boo do for you? Does it make you feel better letting all of the STUDENT athletes know that you don't approve of their effort or the effort of their coaches? Does it make you feel better to express your anger? I just don't get it. But I can guarantee you the same people cussing at Devon Torrence for getting beat in man to man coverage were the same people high fiving strangers when he took one to the house and probably even the same people asking for his autograph after the game.
