Matt McGloin to start for Penn State vs Buckeyes
The walkon wonder will get the first crack against the OSU defense Saturday.
I don't even care about their records. anything done against michigan gets thrown out the window......unless it's TP.McGloin sure is getting a lot of credit for winning a couple of games at home against two teams that are each sub-.500 in conference.
Transitive property doesn't work for college football. This game is tougher for us than the Illinois game. It's in November, it's after a bye, it's Penn State's circled game every year. Penn State was at their low point when they played Illinois, they are a much better football team now than they were then. And my fault, I thought Miami was still 5-3.Miami (FL) is 6-3.
I think our offense is a bit more powerful than NW's.
How can you say that when Illinois housed PSU? Especially considering OSU's game was @Illinois whereas this game for OSU will be at home?

And I never said NWs offense was equal to ours.
I feel that if Penn State as they are right now were to play the Illinois team that we saw a month ago, then Penn State would win. Different QB, different defense, better team. McGloin has 7 TDs with 1 INTs, compared to the 5 TDs and 7 INTs that Boldin had, and Boldin played BAD against teams far worse than Michigan and Northwestern. Royster is getting more involved in the offense again, and is playing at the best he has all year. The guy had 38 yards against Kent and 40 yards against Youngstown State. Those are pasties. He did not look good. But against Michigan and Northwestern he has turned it around, the O-Line has found new life, and things are coming together. Watching that game last week against NW, that was a turning point for Penn State. They were playing some inspired football, and I expect that to continue this week. They are going to be bringing their best, and I just hope that we bring our A game as well. I think we could get by with our B game just on sheer talent, but if we come into this game and are looking ahead to Iowa and play flat, this game could be much closer than it should be.You're ignoring the fact that playing on the road in the Big Ten (OSU's game at Illinois) is much harder than playing at home (OSU's game against Penn St.). You're ignoring the fact that Penn St. was playing awful until a couple of patsies rolled into Happy Valley the last couple of weeks. And, most importantly, you're ignoring the fact that Illinois housed Penn State in Happy Valley--it's not using the transitive property to claim that Illinois is better than PSU when Illinois beat them in Happy Valley. Or do you also think that OSU is better than Wisconsin this year?
No, but you said that PSU's defense worries you, and you cited PSU shutting down NW's offense as support for your argument. That evidence, and hence the proposition you're trying to support with it, is eroded when you take into account OSU's offense is significantly better than NW's.

I'm somewhat of a newbie when it comes to posting, but I wanted everyone to know I [censored]ing Hate State Penn with every fiber of my being. Thanks for listening.
