What Actually Constitutes a Cult?
A cult is a social group that is committed to an ideology or leader. Learn more about what a cult is and how to recognize that a group is a cult.
1. JoePa was an "absolute authoritarian without accountability." Check.
2. Ha. Go over to one of their boards and post something that opposes their general opinions. Check.
3. I'll let someone else answer this. As a state institution, they may have to disclose their budget.
4. Conspiracy theories? Persecutions of the football team? Ha. Check.
5. Does anyone leave?
6. I don't know about abuse of members, but there was a bunch of abuse of kids.
7. Abuse of the leader or group by people outside the cult? Yeah - I'd say there's a lot of records documenting the abuse of JoePa. Check.
8. I don't think this is a check for them. I think the followers feel they're better than everyone else.
9. Absolutely a check. They may think he should have retired sooner, but he could do no wrong.
10. I don't think this is a check for them.
I count a score of 5 for them, with 3 "I don't know" answers, and 2 they don't get the check.

Anyone else who attended the game find the WVU fans to be rude, nasty, inhospitable and low class?
If I ever hear a Penn State fan treat visiting fans the way we were treated, I’ll personally let them taste the back of my hand. Thank goodness WVU is not in the Big Ten. Too trashy.
Original poster had a bad experience at an away game.
I'm guessing this guy wasn't there against Ohio State in 2005 with the piss balloons and throwing stuff into the marching band, and pouring beers on Ohio State fans. Or in 2007 when they punched an Ohio State fan just walking by some fraternity houses. It's too bad, too, because he would have let them taste the back of his hand. That would fix it, right?
And I've seen more shoving matches in Ohio Stadium when Penn State is in town than at games for all other opponents, combined. And that's including games against *ichigan. You can't say that the Ohio State fans are the reason - the Ohio State fans are at all Ohio State games. The only variable is the opposing fans.
Penn State, you cannot complain about anyone until you clean up your own.
Edit - I give them credit. Read down further in that thread and you see Penn State fans start calling themselves out.

It's my dream to get one of those fuckwits to wear Ohio State gear and walk around their stadium for an entire day before a night game against us. They're not allowed to say anything about not really being an Ohio State fan.
