"This shouldn't happen at Penn State". If this is something you think is an injustice, you should say, "This shouldn't happen anywhere." But he said "This shouldn't happen at Penn State." It's like a senator's son getting pulled over for speeding and yelling at the office, "Don't you know who I am?"

Assuming it is true that they have opened their conference schedule on the road every year for 8 consecutive years, then they've played the rest of their schedule with 36 home games and 28 away games over those 8 years. What makes the first game of the schedule so great that you have to whine about it? You play 4.5 home games and 4.5 away games on average. If you're getting 1 of your away games out of the way, that's 1 less to worry about later in the year.

Well yeah... No one else in the B1G likes them. They've known this, and have been whining about it non-stop for years.

No school should have a run of mostly away openers like that; most teams should be somewhere around 50% home/away for the first game.

Especially not a big brand like Penn State. Penn State should be able to throw its weight around on this kind of issue.

What weight does Penn State have? All those championships they keep winning? All those viewers in State College? I would guess that they were #3 behind the good guys and the bad guys, and with USC coming it, Penn State will be lucky to be #4. You lost to Illinois in 9 overtimes. Get back in your place in line.

I just went back and watched the "highlights". I had forgotten a bunch of things.
First, the score in regulation was 10-10. HAHA! #7 vs. unranked was 10-10. And the "highlights" were funny. Illinois would run for 15 yards. Then, with the same score, Penn State has the ball, and they'd run for 15 yards. Same score, Illinois has the ball, and they run for 15 yards. Then, same score, Illinois has the ball again but back inside their own 20, and they run for 15 yards. It must have been a punt-fest. Then 2 field goals by both teams in 2 overtimes, and it went into the third overtime 16-16. The new rule was that they just go for 2-pt conversions from that point on. So third overtime = nothing. Fourth overtime = nothing. Fifth, sixth, seventh overtimes = nothing. Finally, in the eighth overtime, they both eek out a 2-pt conversion. Then, in the ninth overtime, Illinois scores to win. That game was a big bag of barf, and it was awesome.

That game, and the 3 OT suckfest against scUM back in 2012-13 ( somewhere in there) were two of the most hilariously inept football games I've ever watched. It was like a car wreck........you know you shouldn't watch but you can't look away. My stomach actually hurt from laughing the next day after both of those games.

HAHA! BTN now (11:00 eastern time) is Big Ten Elite: 1994 Nebraska.
Not only are they NOT a Big Ten team in 1994, but they "stole" (Penn State's opinion, not mine) the championship from Penn State, which WAS a Big Ten team.
This program drives the Penn State cult crazy.
To many, this was the beginning of the anti-Penn State bias, as they were not supported by the Big Ten voters in the AP. Never mind that the Big Ten had 0 votes in the AP poll - they don't care. Also, the voters who are based in states that include Big Ten teams voted for Penn State at a higher percentage than the AP voters in the state of Pennsylvania. HAHAHA!
Point and laugh.
