When his obvious mistakes are met with 100000 fans booing he will be highly motivated to make a change. Do his kids go to school or have friends that are fans? Does his wife socialize with PSU people? How long would he subject them to a hostile environment? LOTS of things can cause his quality of life to decline that are not written into any contract.
There becomes a point where the money just isn't worth it anymore.
Dennis Reynolds : What do you mean what do we need boos for? Why in the hell do you think we just spent all that money on tickets? The whole purpose of buying tickets in the first place was to cheer when things are good, and then we can take 'em to a nice comfortable place below the bleachers to chase him off and, you know, he can't refuse, because of the implication.
Mac : Oh, uh... okay. You had me going there for the first part, the second half kinda threw me.
Dennis Reynolds : Well dude, dude, think about it: he's out in the middle of the stadium with 1000,000 dudes he barely knows. You know, he looks around and what does he see? Nothin' but 100,000 whack jobs in white that are okay with violence and sexual assault. "Ahh, there's nowhere for me to run. What am I gonna do, stay?"
Mac : Okay. That... that seems really dark.
Dennis Reynolds : Nah, no it's not dark. You're misunderstanding me, bro.
Mac : I'm-I think I am.
Dennis Reynolds : Yeah, you are, because if he wants to stay said then the answer obviously is stay...
Mac : No, right.
Dennis Reynolds : But the thing is he's not gonna want to stay, he would never want to stay, because of the implication.
Mac : ...Now you've said that word "implication" a couple of times. Wha-what implication?
Dennis Reynolds : The implication that things might go wrong for him or his wife or his kids if he wants to stay. Now, not that things are gonna go wrong for him but he's thinkin' that they will.
Mac : But it sounds like he doesn't wanna leave his contract...
Dennis Reynolds : Why aren't you understanding this? He-he doesn't know if he wants to leave his contract. That's not the issue...
Mac : Are you gonna hurt his wife and kids?
Dennis Reynolds : I'm not gonna hurt his wife and kids! Why would I ever hurt his wife and kids? I feel like you're not getting this at all!
Mac : I'm not getting it.
Dennis Reynolds : Goddamn.
[notices woman in Penn St shirt staring at them]
Dennis Reynolds : Well don't you look at me like that, you certainly wouldn't be in any danger.
Mac : So they are in danger!
Dennis Reynolds : No one's in any danger!
