Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Curley and Schultz both plead guilty to child endangerment charges. Trial was due to start next week. Spanier is now on the clock

Any requirements for cooperation with the guilty pleas. I'm assuming that they're getting some kind of leniency in sentencing. I (meaning humanity) would really like to see one of these clowns flip on Joesus. It's probably going to be hard for Schultz to ever get another job as a police chief again!

Since the trial, and inevitable not guilty verdict, was supposed to exonerate Joesus (PUT THE STATUE BACK UP!), I wonder what mental gymnastics the cult will go through to somehow make this a positive development.

Well holy shit. I thought they were all not guilty and the courts were going to dig up the real dirt on that evil BOT and Corbit (sp?). You're telling me the info I got from BWI was wrong?

They each pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count that carries a maximum possible penalty of a $10,000 fine and five years in prison. The judge said there was no agreement on the sentence they will received.

"There is no provision of the agreement that would limit my ability to impose sentence as I see fit," Boccabella said.

They already started rationalizing it. The jury pool was tainted and they had no choice. They are innocent of all charges.

BWI is still in shock, but the narrative that seems to be coalescing is that the Pennsylvania court system is so corrupt and any potential jury pool has already been so tainted by the false media narrative that C & S, despite being totally innocent, had no choice but to agree to plead to the lesser charge and take their chance that the judge doesn't give them the five years. It also nicely sets up any testimony for the prosecution against Spanier (particularly if it implicates Joesus) to be written off as being total lies being driven by the desire to avoid prison time.

I'm kind of disappointed to see them plead it down. I was really looking forward to all three of them throwing the blame directly at joesus' feet.

Evidenses!

That said, it's an interesting read thus far. There's clearly a few wearing their best tin-foil hats... but there's a surprisingly large group calling a spade a spade. That is to say, recognizing that there's a pretty good chance that the state had more on them than they thought.

I suspect that they are going to roll on Spanier at which time everything that everyone knew will be put on the table.

I'll have to continue reading later tonight.

Interesting; they plea down - saves the cost and time of a trial - they accept the "guilty" label, they accept time and fine and realize they're done in terms of academia.

But what concerns me is that this also suppresses what will be released to the media and the public. It seems to me that the victims and their families deserve to have that information out there, that not only were they abused, but that the university, the athletic department and the coach turned a blind eye to that abuse until the truth got out and then they did their best to keep the story suppressed. Does FOIA work in a situation such as this?
