Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Just saw that the new football tv package is 430 million per year (fox + espn). Divided by 14 that would be $31 million per school. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Penn State will follow the advise of the Joebots and head for the ACC.
If your math is correct, it still leaves out the substantial earnings from the BTN, which increases as the network and advertising matures (let alone any additional expansion in markets).

Sounds like they are about to get some new Fax and Evidents

Judge to release records

Even before this comes out, for the record, this is a fax:

Penn State has confirmed paying $92 million to settle 32 civil claims of abuse at Sandusky's hands, going back to 1971.

32 civil claims over 50 years...but the high priest of happy valley never knew anything about it

correct. the child rape was only reported to the insurance company. which... you know....... is pretty standard procedure.... right..? im sure there are at least a couple of insurance agents on the board. you guys sell child rape insurance to all your clients don't you? i mena, isn't how many kids you rape on average per year one of the first things you get asked by an insurance agent when you ask about an umbrella policy?

Yeah, right, asshole. Because, as always, where PedState is concerned, it's all about the "victims."

correct. from the very beginning pedo state has made it very clear the ONLY thing that concerns them in this situation is the victims. joesus and the football team.

Question: What year was the first policy issued that covered reparations for sexual assault? And, why did the insurance company keep reissuing the policy? Did they have one of those Liberty Mutual special riders the first rape won't raise your rates?

Well, I'm not an insurance agent but I am a coach and I have run a club program involving insurance for the coaching staff. It's been a while since I had a policy issued but there is a specific line item that you can select if you want that kind of coverage. I seem to recall that if selected your covered coaches had to go through background checks prior to it being issued.

FWIW

so.... just the one background check then..? no need to recheck it at any point right? was this a pennsylvania based insurance company or do they all do this? :P

ah, so it wasn't a pennsylvania based insurance company then.

really interesting, and somewhat terrifying, info. thanks!! :)

It kinda is, isn't it. What's crazier is that my background checks for leading a cub scout den was good for two years... and if there's anyone aside of the Catholic Church and State Penn who should be doing checks on anyone interfacing with young boys on a monthly basis, it's Boy Scouts of America.

This is going to definitely stir up the cult.

Lawyer says he told Penn State official to report Sandusky

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Penn State's former top lawyer said in a deposition made public Thursday he advised the university's vice president in 2001 to notify a state agency of a complaint from an assistant football coach about Jerry Sandusky showering with a boy in a team locker room.

Former university general counsel Wendell Courtney also said in the deposition three weeks ago that no one from Penn State has ever asked him for details regarding his Feb. 11, 2001, phone discussion with then-vice president Gary Schultz or the research he did that day on reporting suspected child abuse.

con't...

The conversation went something like this:

WC: We have a problem with Sandusky. he is doodling little boys in the shower.

GS: OK, I'll talk to coach about this.

WC: I think we need to contact law enforcement.

GS: Look, this is above our pay grade. I will tell coach.
