Scout staff predictions. The Kool-Aid is flowing...

The picks:

8-4
10-2
9-3
9-3
9-3
9-3
8-4
8-4
8-4
8-4

This is a team that went 9-4 last year with smoke and mirrors. They averaged 19 ppg, and lost their best WR, RB, and a chunk of their OL. The have, maybe, the least talented defensive backfield in the conference, but they're gonna equal or better last year. :slappy:

This could simply be a tacit admission that their coach as of the beginning of last year was piss poor.

Just more ammo to throw at the NCAA when they are 2-10.

Beano was never a ped aggy fan. He was first and foremost a domer, but after that he loved Pitt. To his credit, he went on record before ped aggy started playing in the conference that they would struggle without Paterno being able to have his hand picked ref crews.

Beano went to Pitt and grew up there, but he also spent plenty of time on local (Pittsburgh) radio slobbering on Joe Pa's knob.

I dunno, 8-4 this year wouldn't surprise me at all. Other than Ohio state, wisconsin, Nebraska, and Iowa, I don't see any games where I can point and sa, that's definitely a loss. Now, I also wouldn't be surprised if they went 3-9 because there aren't many games I can definitely see as wins. Given all the craziness of their offseason, I really don't know what to expect.

Mark another one off the BWI checklist of victim metaphors. So far, we've had.....

Communism
Fascism
Hitler
Nailing Jesus to the Cross
Slavery
Lynching
Christians and Lions in the Coliseum
Jim Crow

and most recently McCarthyism....Come on down. You're next on the analogy is wrong.

Who's next, Bob?

If they go 8-4, Batches O'Boulihan deserves National, not just B1G coach of the year. They lost their best players from a horrific offense and are relying on friggin' McMoxie to run a totally new offense. That ain't Tom Brady, and those TEs aren't Gronk and Hernandez. That's not even addressing the mess their DBs are.

They will be pushed to the limit early and with the depth issues already, any injuries at all will manifest on the field in losses.

Penn State alumna Alexis Puhala, 27, of Pilsen, said she wants to see Penn State gain back its reputation.

"It's definitely been tarnished," she said, adding that the scandal often is the first thing discussed when it comes to her alma mater. But she said she wants to move beyond that.
It wasn't "tarnished", honey. It was all bullshit in the first place.

Tom McLaughlin is one of the few guys who covers the 'Nits who has a decent head for FB. Be sure to read the actual text of his predictions. I have no doubt he was intentionally slipping a dose of reality in between the lines.
