Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Still puzzled.. what is with the $60M fine?
maybe they're going to use it to fund the stipend thingy again

IMO it would have been much more cleansing if PSU had to reveal what their operations would be to ensure oversight.. and not a dictatorial coach who decides when something is a violation or not.. and they should have to rehire that gal that left because of Joe

The Big10 hasnt levied their penalties yet, i expect no home games in 2012 from them...

These penalties are deadly, the low scholly count will barely keep them alive and the 4 year bowl ban will drive out any hope they had for talent. Also their will be a mass exodus of transfers. The total image of penn state has been erased as well. They are going to suckass for 10-20 years I bet, this will not be forgotten ever.

Will they stay or will they go? The BOT may feel they are better served leaving the BIG. They could then work to become The Beast of the East, again. It would not shock me if they went that way. Paterno was the driving force behind then entering the BIG. He's gone so there may be a change in attitude.

Now, finally, the spotlights and magnifying glasses are on Happy Valley. Behavior doesn't change overnight, so I suspect we'll soon find out just how squeeky clean things ran at PSU.

Exactly.

PSU is like a toilet filled with [Mark May]. They've cleaned the bowl, sure, but the PSU bandwagon is forgetting about the upper decker that comes down as soon as they think its okay.

Penn State football student-athletes allowed easier transfers (NCAA.org)

Interesting stuff here, including:

Additionally, the NCAA is considering waiving scholarship limits for programs to which these football student-athletes transfer, provided they reduce proportionately in the next year. For example, the limit is 25 new scholarships per year to a total of 85 scholarships. If the limits are waived in 2012-13 to accommodate one Penn State student-athlete who wishes to transfer to a particular school already at the limits, in 2013-14 the school will be limited to 24 new scholarships and 84 total scholarships.

Well they will be about on par with Temple from the mid-90s after this....
