Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

I don't think I can name an example in the past 30 years of a fanbase that hates, HATES being in its current conference more than PSU hates being in the B1G.

It is really a sad, unique thing!
It would be like Boise State joining the PAC 12 right in the middle of their run of national relevance and undefeated seasons only to get their asses kicked for 20 years.

Throw in a cult of personality surrounding an evil old man who coached there for 30+ years who instilled a culture of victimhood, excuses and conspiracy theories throughout his tenure.

It's a special mix that can't be duplicated.

Truth be told, it's the same for a group as it is for an individual. If your ongoing conclusion is that the whole world stinks, maybe it's not the world.

They're their own problem. Wherever they go, there they are.

Yes, the INT call was bogus. That was the first drive. You can't complain of a conspiracy to hold Penn State down when there were plenty of calls in the 4th quarter that went Penn State's way. I mean, you can if you're a fucking crybaby. You just shouldn't.

They were conditioned by JoePed's hand picked ref crews to NEVER have calls go against them. And then they had 20 years of listening to his whining and conspiracty theories about officiating when they entered the conference. Their brains just can't comprehend the concept of unbiased, occasionally incompetent referees. They're like an assistant coach who wanders into the middle of a soap battle. They have no frame of reference.

Worse, I think. Boise never won national championships, and I think the truck drivers would have expected to be no more than competitive in the Pac. Every single pedster out there thought they were literally going to steamroll this conference every single year, that they might lose to Ohio State or Michigan one game out of four or five and that JoePed would coach circles around the Big Ten coaches. In those three years between the announcement and actually starting to play in the conference, I had more than one pedster tell me he didn't want to join because it would be boring going to the Rose Bowl every year. This wasn't idle smack. They truly believed this to the core of their warped cult identity.

I'll say it again Penn State has the worst fan base in the country (maybe even the world). Collectively they are the biggest group of whiners, complainers, ass wipes, perverts, and cultists that you will ever find.

However, let's give credit where credit is due: The 100,000 plus Penn State fans in Beaver Stadium last night were a significant factor in the game. They supported their team the entire game, never stopped cheering, and caused significant problems for Ohio State's offense. In addition, they helped motivate the Penn State team to come out in the 2nd half after being down 17-0 and (probably) play their best 30 minutes of football of the entire season so far. Penn State didn't win but it wasn't for any lack of fan support (and cheering) from those in attendance.
They've always been like that. I remember in 97 we were dominating them. We scored quickly to start the third. The game was over. Then they get a first down and the place goes fucking nuts. The team feeds off of that, and they came back to win. It'd be admirable if they were doing it out of team unity or whatever. I think they do it because they're just too fucking stupid to know when they're out of a game.

sadly I have to just wear whatever my boss brings.
go to a fabric store... buy some fabric... set the wife to work on making 2 9 & 8 .. get her to teach you briefly how to stitch... then tomorrow when its handed over.. disappear for a little while and come out with a badly stitch slap in the face to every pedster

They always talk about going to the ACC. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't half the schools in the ACC the same ones that killed Joesus' idea for an "Eastern Conference" then blackballed him from the Big East? What makes them think the ACC would even want anything to do with them?

Joesus.

Isn't that the answer to everything?

Don't you know? Everybody wants Penn State. They routinely say "The Big Ten needs us more than we need the Big Ten." And they seriously believe it.
