Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

The design of the monument is very telling. It's set up so the cultists can literally sit next to their beloved Joe and commune with his spirit, that whole sick need of theirs to put themselves on as close and intimate terms with "Joe" as they can.

And guess who was an important member of Second Mile? The current Governor Corbett. Talk about an incestuous relationship! Supposedly, his name was removed from their records at some point.

At one point his charity had received an award for all their great work -- I'm sure a lot of people donated to Second Mile without the slightest clue what was going on. I'm sure a lot of people worked and volunteered there w/o having a clue either. It really was an ingenious setup.
Use connections and community to fund a charity (and a really great cause when it's not perverted) to gain access to disadvantaged children and have a great excuse to be seen with them all the time w/o arousing suspicion. Have access to records and knowledge about their family situation so he can select targets that won't report. Have access to a University's facilities during off-hours (less suspicious than his own house w/wife etc. ... and simultaneously restricted access and privacy).

Which is why it's so disgusting that when Penn State did find out, they did nothing at all.

Let's not forget that after the story broke, there were more than a few former players who made statements that while they were in school, it was a well-known-but-not-discussed-but-generally-accepted fact that ole' Jer was into little boys - or at the very least - kinda creepy. Seems funny to me that these statements never came back up..... I'll see if I can find some of them......

I believe that staff members actually "jokingly" told either families or coaches of recruits, "Keep your kids away from Jerry."

I know I've mentioned it before but more than a decade ago I spent some time at PSU working with a research project that we had funded. While on campus I had individuals associated with the school point out Sandusky to me & refer to him as "Jerry the perv" on more than one occasion.

It was well speculated. We know a woman that graduated from PSU in 1983 or 1984 and she said her sorority sisters had the same nickname for ole Jer. But every time someone would question his saintly reputation they were met with indignation. Basically - "how dare you question a man that has done so much good for kids... or what have you done to help at risk kids?" But you know that people had actually witnessed things and were kept quiet either through intimidation or misplaced loyalty to the program and the reputation of Joesus
