Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Although I could never pull for a Pedster win, I am OK with Rutgers spitting the bit last night. Given the dismal out of conference play of the Big so far, you just know that the ESPN driven national media spin would be "New Big members from the All American Conference takes down Big Blue Blood". And who knows, with Brady Hoke exploding (It's Brady Hoke-its physically impossible for him to implode), the Pedsters may take one from scum inn AA. Then the match up in Happy Valley will be an opportunity for the Bucks for some national redemption.
Especially considering Rutgers was the only Big Ten team with a win against a power conference opponent.

Bill Belton did his best Derrick Green impression last night, carrying the ball 15 times for a whopping 36 yards.

Rutgers would've won that game if they had even a decent high school QB--Gary Nova (Rutgers' QB) had a 50% completion percentage, with 0 TDs and 5 picks. Their backup QB must be the worst QB in the history of football.

With all of that, the argument could be made before the 4th INT that he was still outplaying Hackenburg. Hack threw a bad pass to a covered WR who then made a play and ran halfway down the field....then he threw a perfect ball to get them down to the goal line. Other than those plays, he was pretty average.

Nova reminds me of that dude Stephen Garcia who used to start for Spurrier. Has some talent and at times he can look pretty good but generally has the on-field decision-making capabilities of a four-year old.

Rutgers fans show up in Pedo Bear inspired "Beat Ped State" shirts. Official Rutgers Facebook page posts them. Pedsters see. Hilarity ensues.

OK, I was starting to soften on my Rutgers stance, figuring every school has a few bad apples, but this is institutional. I will rejoice in every Rutgers loss this year, and there will be many. I wonder how the young man in the lower photo feels about the shirt?

In the crowd of 55,000 there may have been 100 of those shirts.
A staffer was going thru 1000's of pictures and posted it to the album without looking at the shirt.
But it's an institutional thing - Come off it

I am not the kind of fan that brings up the issues that happened at Penn State because it was a dark time for your university, and while the issues were not a football program issue in my eyes, it was by all accounts an institutional issue.

So your comment is like the pot calling the kettle black.

It is a T-Shirt.

I have been to 15 different away game stadiums over the last 15 years to watch Rutgers play on the road. There are morons and knuckleheads everywhere.

Examples:

* Uconn I watched a guy wearing an "F" Rutgers shirt push a little kid to the ground.

* Penn State which I have been to on several occasions. I was there for a PSU - OSU game a couple years back and there were many unflattering things I heard come out of the mouths of your fans including telling a guy to go "F" his Mother."

Not to mention this wonderful design that was sanctioned for your white out game and then recalled because someone got smart.
ec

* USF - I had a beer bottle thrown at me while walking thru the parking lot.

* Syracuse - My personal favorite. A T-shirt that said "Beat "Sl**gers" on the front and had a picture of Otto The Orange having intercourse with a Rutgers on the the back

Is that t-shirt in poor taste.... Yes.
Was it a licensed t-shirt through the university - No. As pretty much all of my examples

It's not like they were selling them in the bookstore.

Get a grip.

I'll go to Giants Stadium and find the exact spot in the field where I went down.
I'll lie there for a second. And then I'll get up on my own power and walk away.

With the entire country disgusted by the Pedsters and the 409 garbage, it's crazy that they still try to claim the moral high ground and become offended about things like the Rutgers tailgate sign and that Facebook page. I did see a few whipped Rutgers fans come over to the Ped St. boards to apologize for their fellow Rutgers fans Naturally, sanctimonious Pedsters played victim and wondered why the Rutgers fans did not remove such a sign. Meanwhile, it's fine to continue worshipping the guy whose cover-up allowed the entire scandal to happen.

I've yet to be all that impressed with Hackenburg. He's a QB that gets his numbers on throwing much more then the average QB while being decvidedly average looking.

If I was Penn St. My take away from that game is we need to get much better cause if Nova was an average QB we lose.
