Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

If they lose a close game the Big Ten and the refs screwed them. If they lose in a blowout, the winning team has no class. Joesus hangs 81 on an opponent, and it was just because his fourth string was so good they couldn't keep from scoring. Under that set of rules I say, run it up on them and make them cry.

What if Rutgers is the opposing team? How does that change the scenario?

The worst part is the absolute vacuum that continues to fill the space where a lesson should have been learned.

Don't idolize humans because all humans are flawed. There are things in life (most things, in fact) that are more important than football.

Instead, there has been a rush to put O'Brien on the same pedestal as Paterno and now it's even worse with Franklin thanks to him purposefully stoking the flames.

Others have mentioned it before, but the fundamental problem is how much they derive their own personal worth and values through Joe Paterno and Penn State football.

With Paterno gone they are just floating around hoping some other figure (i.e. the Penn State football coach, it has to be the Penn State football coach) steps in and fills the void where their own self worth and values should have developed as children but instead was filled (no pun intended) by Joe Paterno.

It's like they can't not be a part of a cult. It's really disturbing and sad.

The "I can't wait til Franklin goes ballistic on the first ref who makes a bad call!" is like an 8 year old saying "my dad can beat up your dad!" because they are still utterly reliant on other people to handle life for them.

These are the same mutants that actually had a thread debating whether B'OB (we speak your name) could physically kick Urban's ass back in 2012. These are not rational human beings we're dealing with here, dude...

Exactly. I think there's very much a heirarchy with them, at least from what I've seen on BWI. It's basically, the closer you are/were to Joesus, the better of a human being you are. "Hey, I caught a glimpse of the Almighty walking out of the bookstore. Come bask in my glory!"

They all have stories about when they happened to run into him on campus somewhere. It's fucking weird. I wonder if he hired old people, put some hollywood style makeup on them, and had them wander around campus doing good deeds while he sat in his lair scheming for the next opportunity to beat Nebraska.

I'm only half kidding, too.
