The number of Paternos wasn't shocking but is still noteworthly in it's stupidity. The number with Franco fucking Harris though.....good lord. These people are fucking stupid beyond help.

Unbelievable. The blue out this year will be on Senior Day (vs. MSU). A special day for the seniors has to be shared with the false association of the football program with child abuse.

How is awareness for child abuse a bad thing
for the seniors or anyone else for that matter? Lets say that Sandusky was found guilty back in 98, and nobody blamed anyone else at Penn State... wouldn't it be the human, decent thing to do to help raise awareness?

Quick response:
Wearing blue in and of itself does not raise awareness. Advertising, passing out leaflets, teaching children, donating to responsible causes, etc. raises awareness and further helps the cause. Wearing blue when you are told to wear blue for one day makes people think they are doing something when they are really doing nothing. Furthermore, telling fans to wear blue to a football game in the name of preventing child abuse furthers the false notion that the football program and child abuse are linked.

The blue out is a terrible idea.

And how come schools across the country don't have a blue-out? Name one Saturday in the fall National Blue Out Day. It's a good cause after all. Yeah, that's going to happen.

I'm guessing that blue is the national "prevent child abuse" color?

Close. The Freeh report turned up e-mails about following up on Joesus' request to find something for a different retiring assistant coach. They talked about the possibility that they could make him Dean of the college of sciences. The guy had an undergrad degree in secondary education and a masters in phys ed--both from marginal colleges.
