Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

ESPN launched in 1979. It wasn't available on broadcast TV. Lol, kittens.

I just went back to my first memories of seeing cable TV, I can't remember what we had when we lived in Tennessee or on Long Island.

When my dad first retired from the military he had an offer to work at ESPN, but he turned them down because he didn't want to live in Bristol either, much like Olberweenie.

They had a little intro video on their scoreboard for our game in 2005 that culminated with "It's time to show the world WE ARE BACK". Who the fuck admits to going away? And why doesn't it dawn on them that being so completely wrapped up in what they do against Ohio State isn't healthy. Penn State isn't our rival, no matter how hard they try.

But...but...they have The Rail!! Don't forget about those FACTS AND EVIDENTS!!

I lived in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylshitholia in starting in 1984 and I remember watching some of the very same stuff on TV Cable of Waynesboro....but whatever....apparently cable TV was invented in the 90s

And I remember watching scrambled Showtime after hours without a Jerrold decoder in the hopes I'd catch a fleeting glimpse of boobies.

This. I ruined probably 3 or 4 cable boxes for my parents trying to do the paperclip thing to unscramble the soft-core skinimax movies.

Also, you all must remember that Slappy Valley is a little behind the times as they think we are still in ancient Rome where it was widely accepted that old men take advantage of young boys in public bathing places.

I must have just imagined watching MTV, Nickelodeon, and ESPN in 1981/1982 on Continental Cablevision, and probably misremember downloading Doom shareware from the Internet in 1994.

I remember coming back on leave from Japan in Sept '79 and visiting my dad in Columbiana, and he had cable with HBO...that's fucking Columbiana in '79 with cable and pedsters think cable was brand new 15 years after that.

HBO was getting national carriage in the early 70s and became the de facto outlet for boxing telecasts (of course) with the Thrilla in Manilla in '75. I believe NYC rolled out cable in the 60s.

Those boys couldn't have been raped in the showers. In 1994 we didn't even have things like "soap". Indoor plumbing was in its infancy.

Kerry Collins had some wicked outdoor plumbing at his place though.

I believe, historically it was the Greeks(pederasty) that were noted for this practice. In "300", the Spartans said as much. :tongue2:
