He HAS to be a troll. Has to be. There was a Vol fan that went on audibles and said they booted this aurabass character off their board for being "bat[Mark May] crazy". Maybe he just roams around scout & rivals trolling fanbases?

He has a paypal button set up to take donations from the cult. I wonder how many of these gullible fools are sending him money in the hopes that he exonerates Dear Leader.

you really want to believe he's a troll. you really do. but all you have to do is read the responses in that thread to realize that there are far too many people that legitimately think that way.

but, we'll see how well their protesting of US Steel goes.

I've been trying to quantify the cult-ure problem at PSU and playing with numbers. If 1500 people attended the rally out of 100,000 people that attended the Navy game, then 1.5% of their fanbase are dead-enders. If the real number was < 500 then that drops it to < 0.5%. That seems to be a reasonable percent of nut cases for any fanbase. What I'm trying to put a number to is how many nutjobs couldn't attend the rally. I'm sure that there are fans that could attend the rally but still feel that PSU got a bad deal, JoePa was framed ...etc. Since they didn't attend the rally they are not true cultist. Because the students didn't participate, it gives me hope for the place. Then I consider what happened there, the FACTS that have come out, and you still have around 1% rallying for Dear Leader (I believe restoring JoePa's image to be their real agenda). Very discouraging.

To me, the brightest hope for the place is that NO students came out for it, and the student newspapers were ripping the cultists on Monday morning.

However, you still have to keep in mind that after the scandal hit (but granted before the Freeh report came out) the alumni voted in three trustees: 2 certified Paterno dead enders and a former player and sympathetic figure who (despite the fact that he ultimately turned his back on the cult) it could be argued was assumed would take a pro-Joe stance.

I don't think the cult is the entirety of the fanbase, but I think it's bigger and more dysfunctional than at any other school.
