Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

BuckeyeNation27;2197085; said:
I asked this once and didn't remember to check to see if anybody answered it. When Penn State got their sanctions, did anybody say the culture change was needed because PSU was stressing football over academics, or just stressing football over common decency like preventing an adult from raping a child?

Every time they cry about the sanctions they sarcastically talk about how the football over academics culture....but I don't remember academics being the point of that Penn State Culture speach.

The cult keeps going back to grad rates...grad rates...grad rates. After all, that was what Dear Leader pounded into their heads for decades. Even ignoring the tricks (parks & rec degrees, branch campus transfers and--according to the Pitt board--a liberal use of classifying football players with learning disabilities so they could take one-on-one verbal tests) that JoePed used to get those 85% rates, that has nothing to do with the culture and lack of institutional control that the ncaa was addressing.

The ncaa was talking about a situation so dysfunctional that the football coach ran the university, overruled the President and AD about turning in a child rapist, made decisions on Emeritus Professorships for his assistant coaches, made the decision to exempt his department from Clery Act requirements, forced out vice-presidents with whom he disagreed. That is the culture in question, not how many PSU football players left with a degree.

Yet these fucking simpletons keep repeating 85% over and over as if that is what is in question.

BTN Bus Tour at PSU today.

That's right, they're solidly 'middle of the pack,' and it will be an immense challenge to even sustain that. Of course, everyone that isn't a member of BWI already knew this ...

We had arguably better talent(but a new QB) and won 6 games last year.
This is O'Brien's first year in college football and they expect some sort of miracle with what they have right now?

Isn't there some rule about using scholarships from other athletic departments to "subsidize football ? Or basketball?
And if it was actually possible, wouldn't the SEC or somebody already have done it?
And how would the track coach and the wrestling coach feel about giving they're scholarships to football players?
Even mighty USC is going to face the music at some point in the near future. And Ped State is not USC.
The delusion is just pathetic and laughable.

If a kid on "lesser" scholarship plays football his scholarship is then counted as a football scholarship. They can practice and dress without counting - but not play.

You people are a bunch of delusional inbred retards. You are the worst fanbase in the United States. I WISH the Big Ten would kick you out entirely - in fact I wish the NCAA would disassociate your worthless school so the rest of us (read that as people with actual, functional BRAINS) can move on without a group of pedophile enabling, sister humping, discredited old man worshipers.

Re: Morals and Corruption
This situation makes you understand how someone like Hitler can come into power. If you control the media like he did, and have a propanganda machine like an ESPN, you can steer the herd to think a certain way and then crush the minor pecentage that can think for themselves.

You can steer the masses to hatred, like the large percent who thinks the school should be shut down, degrees devalued, and town destroyed. The masses, ignoring that 9% of children are abused annually - that US is the largest market of worldwide child sex slavery - that 1-5% of the US population is a sex offender, sanctimoniously direct the entire problem to a group of people barely associated with one guilty party.

That's society folks.

I'm glad I'll die in 30-40 years and that the earth will be incinerated by the red giant Sun in 1.5 billion years... and looking forward to the day this chapter of civilization will be wiped from known history.

Hmmm, so media outlets saying that Penn State officials should have reported kiddie rape to the cops is the same thing as what Hitler's propaganda regime did for Nazi Germany. Makes total sense.

Interesting. He described the exact situation at Rhythmic Slappy Valley during the Pedterno administration.

From the judges on the parody troll scale (out of 10)

7.5 6.0 6.5 7.0 5.5 7.0 = 6.58 avg.

That puts him a solid 3rd behind such clear parody trolls as Inbred_Mack_Daddy (100009809238409283409803298402398409820384023984290203984098329084329084 total score) and Sgt. Carter (8.5 avg score)

Battle of Thermopylae
Some people have apparently questioned whether we’re playing for anything over the next several years. What?
The answer is the Battle of Thermopylae recently popularized in the movie “300.” The battle was fought to buy time for the Greeks to mobilize. It was fought with 300 Spartans against over 100,000 Persians. Just like the narrow coastal pass that limited that battle front, football is waged with eleven men per team on the field at any one time. A larger adversarial force can be rendered meaningless.
Penn State is fighting for a unique place in the annals of college football history. This is the stuff legends are made from. We're fighting for time so in a few short years we mobilize at full strength and take everything back.

their delusions toward their recruiting now are pretty funny

because WVU has taken so many players whos only other offers were from the Ivy League and Pioneer Football League and turned them into damagers on the gridiron.......

They forget WVU was playing against Big East caliber teams, and not the Big10.

Rich Rod brought WVU caliber players to scUM, we all know how that ended.
