Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Man, I've been having fun reading their message boards and didn't even realize there was a whole thread here dedicated to just that. This is honestly some of the funniest [Mark May] I've ever seen. At first I was entirely indifferent to the fanbase and even felt sorry for them, but after watching the ongoing cluster**** on those boards, I've found their tears to be delicious.

With regards to the sanctions, I have a question I haven't seen asked yet. Say that somehow one of these groups does end up getting an injunction on the sanctions from a state or federal court because Erickson didn't have the authority to sign the consent decree. Is there anything stopping the board from just turning around and signing a new decree accepting the same sanctions? Considering their earlier meeting where they concluded Erickson had the authority to sign the decree and that he did the right thing, it would seem that the board would sign off on it themselves.

I think someone should call the Pennsylvania drug trafficking tip line. Obviously there are people hallucinating on LSD at State College, PA.

I think someone needs to start trolling these mutants with Pop Warner highlights for recruiting info. I doubt they'd even realize that kids playing PW this year might actually be the ones who make up their first recruiting class worth talking about after all of this mess. In an educationally morbid kind of way it might be interesting to see how many of them would actually get excited over 10-11 year old football players.

The whole "all we want is the truth" is so [censored]ing ridiculous. In their warped minds the only thing that could ever be considered the truth is something that exonerates JoePed and gives them back their foosball.

Correct. If they get anything else, it'll just be more whining about lack of due process and conclusions that they deem to be unsubstantiated.

You could have a time stamped video of Joe Paterno saying "I don't care how many kids 'Dusky porks, I will not allow anything to tarnish my program" and they'd just insist it was a forgery or something. Joe Paterno is infallible and incapable of doing anything remotely unethical.

In short, I would think yes.

Seems to be that the BOT should immediately call a meeting and take a vote to officially approve what Erickson has already done. That ends all this nonsense. That they aren't doing so suggests a few possibilities:

1. They think such a step is completely unnecessary and that it is clear legally that Erickson acted within his authority.
2. They don't want to go on the record individually on where they stand.
3. They are keeping their options open.

I think it is largely one, with a little bit of two mixed in.

In any case, if this did make it to court I would anticipate a judge throwing it out on the grounds that the full BOT has had ample opportunity to take action if they did not agree with what Erickson has done and failure to do so constitutes implied approval. The first remedy should be for the University to manage itself.

Get ready to have your socks knocked off.

Louis Freeh altered the emails in his report to make Joe Paterno look bad. Can't imagine what would make the former director of the FBI risk his future by doing such a thing and then leaving evidence that was so easily traced - but theses guys have the FACTS.

And just when we thought PSU was on the ropes....

I find it hard to believe that they are using the use of the words several and coach as part of their basis to discredit the Freeh report. I am saddened and angered at what has gone on at Penn State and amazed at the imbeciles who are so firmly based in their belief in Paterno that they cannot see the truth staring them in the face.

Honestly I find no humor or joy in what is going on there. Just huge disappointment.
