Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

He's, maybe, the worst QB in the B1G. Seriously, he stinks. Walk-on, pick-6 machine, McMoxie gets playing time, and was the favored starter over him coming into this season. If he has to play, you better hope your defense can go on a Hersheiser-esque scoreless streak...

GPA worthy just for the use of Hersheiser-esque.

(I'm a bit older and might have gone with Drysdalian.)

So he's a combo of Lee and Jefferson?

fuck!

Maybe worse. The cult is actually hoping he transfers if that tells you anything...

well if he ends up in Baton Rouge, our tradition continues.

apparently it's state law for us to always have at least 1 shitty qb on the roster at all times.

just to be safe, we usually carry multiple.

Well, if it helps, he might actually have a decent head on his shoulders. IIRC, he tried to escape the cult last summer, but Il Pa Joe wouldn't release him.

This one wouldn't count against the scholarship total though. Worst case, you just cut him next year.

I know you're pointing out the fact that the grand jury waited until #409 had occurred before releasing its findings, but they waited much longer than your numbers indicate, probably taking over 24 months before publishing the presentment and arresting people.

When the story first broke on March 31, 2011, the reporter stated that the grand jury had already been investigating for 18 months.

Sandusky was arrested on the Saturday after win #409, an off day for PSU. JoePa was let go on the following Wednesday, November 9th - which was 11 days after win #409.

Anecdotally, a portion of an email from a State College native with ties to PSU from last November...

...It's weird, it's been under investigation for a decade it seems like, and why now finally charge him?

Sandusky was not a mystery in State College, and everyone was aware of the allegations against him for a very long time. The foot-dragging lasted longer than 7 months, longer than 24 months...

Slap in the face to all the great teachers and researchers..... Reply
Joe had a positive influence for many years on the overall reputation of the university but Joe did not write one grant request or obtain one dollar of research money that has made PSU a very good (not top 10) public university. Oh I know, I'm a "Joe Hater" because I believe PSU would be a great university right now regardless of the football coach. Now do you see the irony? People talk about the "culture" not being out of wack at PSU but you just stated that its the football coach that has made PSU what it is, not the hundreds of dedicated educators that really make PSU great. THAT is out of wack.

He was not a walkon. He was a highly rated QB despite being a major project. PSU stole him from MSU.

Haven't heard anything official, but lots of noise on twitter saying its a done deal.

Don't think he'll challenge Mett for the starter spot, but he is now the most experienced QB on our roster.

Just hope we don't ever need him to actually step on the field.

Why?

The Tigers have proven they can win with a crappy QB
