Will the culture change? I have my doubts. Notice they aren't melting down the statue!

IgnoreRe: BREAKING: Erickson's Response - complete text inside.Reply As a former district attorney with 8 yrs of experience and CYS solicitor with 40 yrs experience I offer some observations:...Paterno, Curley, Schultz and particularly Spanier handled the 2001 shower incident with alarming malfeasance and incompetence to say nothing of failing to stem the harm to that unfortunate young victim of sandusky's predacious behavior....institutional arrogance is evident, and now the University, it's alumni, taxpayers, students, and athletic teams all will pay an enormous price for the incredibly outrageous failures of the gang of four..but there is much blame to go around...consider teh incompetent advice of cynthia baldwin, the former supreme court justice, who advised gainst barring sandusky from utiling the university facilities...on the basis that the University would have violated its retirement agreement with him...however, in my view all of the failings were outside the purview of the football program. the freeh report was incredibly sophomoric in style and substance and drew conclusions that in my view were reaches and in fact speculative, ie that the efforts of the 4 aforementioned individuals acted out of motives to save the football program its revered theretofore staus as clean...no i think it's clear the men were attempting to avoid harming sandusky, and under the circumstances of his supposed interests in needy children, ie the second mile just couldt believe that sandusky had sexually abused the 2001 victim...yes, im aware of the 1998 incident, but it was "cleared" by the da's office as well as CYS. Finally and most importantly if the primary motive in failing to act, as those men certainly assuredly abjectly failed, the failures were not attendant to the football program, but rather institutionally pertaining to the University!! Yes, the failures included coach paterno and the AD, but the offender was a former coach with no connection to the football program in 2001! rodney erickson is an incredibly incompetent individual to not fight for the rights of the University, its students its faculty and its alumni...to concur with the NCAA's penalties without a wimper is absolutely disgusting and egregious! i was a scholarship baseball player many years ago and greatly respected my University and to see it ripped apart at the fabric, by the incompetents aforementioned is saddening. 2 of my 3 children attended and graduated from Penn Stae and now feel as i do, that we all have been visited witha mea culpa, which just doesnt quite fit under all of the facts and circumstances...
