Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Franklin fired three of his five offensive coordinators, while the other two, Joe Moorhead and Ricky Rahne, left for head coaching jobs. Mississippi State fired Moorhead after recording a 14-12 record in two seasons with the team. Rahne has led Old Dominion to a 13-21 record during his tenure.
How long has Franklin been there? 2014? Is this his 10th year? I'm pretty sure it was Billy O'Borkchin in the 2013 beatdown. And I'm pretty sure it was Franklin already whining in 2014 when Ohio State was gifted the interception and field goal in the first half.

Anyway, I don't know who Ricky Rahne is/was. But wasn't Moorhead there when they had Saquon Barkley and Trace McSorley? Is there any chance his success was because of them? Maybe more Barkley than McSorley, but even Barkley never impressed me much at Penn State. At some point maybe you should quit looking at your coordinators and start looking at the only one common in those 10 years: James Franklin.

Moorhead did have Barkley and McSorley.

Penn State is the Tennessee of the B1G:

1. Trashy hillbilly fanbase

2. Overrated by the media every year

3. Doesn’t have elite in state talent to really compete with their main conference rivals (Penn state is probably in better shape there than the Vols) but have to draw from surrounding states to be somewhat competitive

Could add that both Fulmer and JoePa hung around the program too long, both coaching beyond their primes. And their overextended involvement with their programs led to scandals: McDonalds bags for Tennessee (Phil was AD not HC, but still) and obviously the showers of Penn state.

I came in to say how bad Allar is in real games. I keep getting annoyed with ignorant announcers saying how bad Ohio State wanted him as a recruit...no we did not. We had better options and he never was seriously pursued. Don't besmirch our good name saying we recruited him.
If I recall correctly, he wasn't even offered until very late in his Senior year when he was long time committed to PSU but Corey Dennis went to one of his games and told him 'You have an offer if you want it". I think it was after Ewers left for Texas.

I remember the Penn State fans freaking out because an Ohio State assistant was going to one of Allar's games. Stuff like, "Stop trying to poach our player!!!"
Something tells me that if Ohio State had wanted him, they would have tried a little harder.
Also, after seeing him play a little last year and more this year, I'm going to choose to believe that Ohio State didn't really want him.

Yeah, OSU was much happier with McCord and went in that direction over Allar. Honestly, I remember watching one of his HS ganes his Senior year and didn't quite understand what all the fuss was about. I mean, he was a big guy and was kind of difficult to tackle when he decided to run, but I wasn't really impressed.
