Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Sorry to resurrect this old dying thread. But I find their whining about officials funny.

So they start complaining that M*ch*gan benefitted from some bad calls from referees. Another dude ("LandoCommando") says that all teams benefit from bad calls from time to time. Stop whining about referees. He then gets the wrath of several others.

PSU gets the benefit of the calls from homer b1g hacks (who do 90% of our games and 100% of OOC Home Games @TheBeav)??? WTF are you talking about??? That's such laughable bullshit, it isn't even funny. You are aware that a b1g Official told one of our players, after an intentional and blatant homer call, to "Shut up, you're lucky to even be playing."???

Yea, b1g clowns call games in favor of PSU??? That is the most laughable bullshit ever posted on this board - but fairly typical of your poser-fan troll schtick.

By the way, has anyone ever confirmed the "You're lucky to even be playing" thing? I'll need more "proof" than the fans' claim. And last I heard, they didn't agree on the player, the referee, the game, etc.

That's something that has apparently just become part of the PSU mythology. I've seen several different players mentioned as the one who it was was said to, but the first time I remember seeing it mentioned over on BWI Cult Headquarters it was supposedly said to Mike "anabolic" Mauti (RIP) during the Nebraska game in 2011 or 12 after the refs ruled no TD on a play that definitly looked like the PSU player crossed the goal line. But from my recollection, Mauti himself never claimed it happened.

It has morphed from just "you're lucky to be playing" to "shut up, you're lucky to be playing".......which tells me all I need to know. When I tell the stories about the abuse I've seen at Penn State games, they don't get worse and worse each time I tell them. That's because I'm not making them up.

I've heard it was Mauti against Nebraska. I've heard it was their quarterback - was that McGloin? - after he got the ball, the play was whistled dead because of a false start, he spiked the ball and got a delay of game penalty. I don't think it actually happened.

You have a good point. I don't know that they're all being made up. Most believe them to be true. But there's no documentation. No one can confirm the story, so the fans just let it be true, since it helps with their "everyone hates us because they ain't us" attitude.

Ha.....this 100% happened against us. And it was 100% the correct call. This wasn't the original source of the ref supposedly telling a player they're lucky to be playing......that was definitely from the Nebraska game. This is just another instance of these mongoloids mixing everything together because they have so many made up complaints they can't keep them straight.

Like the Ohio State fan who photoshopped JoePa pooping his pants? Or the Pitt fan who hit the Ohio State fan at Penn State campus in 2007?
What year was the spike for delay of game? I don't remember and I'd like to see it.

Well it wasn't 2012....unless the youtube version cut it out. I just watched it. We won again.

They desperately want us to see them as a rival.

“The network of Penn State alumni is vast and proud. We wanted a way to highlight all they have gone on to do since graduating from the university and starting small businesses across PA,” the news release states. “Obviously no harm is meant, we just think ‘Buckeye Tears’ is the perfect name for a beer that will honor Penn State heading to the National Championship in 2023! No one in Ohio wants to see that.”

The beer will be available on tap and in cans at the participating breweries in early October.

Outsider perspective:

Didn't watch any PSU games last year except for the Rose Bowl where they impressed me against a pretty good Utah team.
Have watched 1/2 of the WVU game and 1/2 of the Illinois game.

Analysis: Really good skill position players who are kicking the butts of inferior opponents. Defensive line stands out as being pretty dang good but unchallenged.

Conclusions:
1). Initial advantages will come to a grinding halt when playing a coaching staff > or = to PSU. This is true of most Franklin coached teams.

2). I do not believe Allar has enough to beat quality opponents by himself if the run is neutralized. FWIW - I don't think Carson Beck has that in him either.

3). Michigan and OSU will out coach them both.
