It's been a while since I've checked out Audibles.

I don't know what they start out arguing about. But it turns into a fight about Franklin or O'Brien. This dude comes to Franklin's defense:

You have to be kidding. You mean the guy that hated recruiting? The guy that can't spell the word 'D-E-F-E-N-S-E?' The guy that ran off his best recruiter and one of the best position coaches in the country in Vanderlinden? The guy that had to reminded that you could take timeouts near the end of a half? The guy who was a NFL coaching disaster even though he was given everything to succeed? That guy? All BOB ever was, was an offensive coordinator who was fortunate to have the all time greatest QB, one of the best head coaches ever, and two of the best tight ends ever working plays for him. There were a boatload of guys that could have succeeded in that situation. BOB had one goal: punch the head coach box on his resume and get paid. That was ALL he ever was.

I know who he thinks is the all-time greatest QB (Hackenberg), but I don't know who "one of the best head coaches ever" was. Unless he's talking about Paterno, since Paterno was there prior to O'Brien.

As far as Hackenberg being the all-time greatest QB, the guy never played a down in the NFL, got cut, then played in the whatever Springtime pro league was for a winless program before he got benched. His back-up led the team to some wins before the league folded.

If I read that correctly - and I like to think that I do - I believe he was referring to Bill O's time in New England, where he was the OC for Belichick and Brady. Not sure who he is suggesting are the two best TEs ever - assuming Hernandez and Gronk. I'm not sure they were there when O'brien was the OC. Regardless, Gronk is an all-time great. There is a LONG list of guys better than Hernandez - as long as the judging criteria isn't murder.

I think he was reffering to Bilbo O'Ballsack's time with the Patriots before he took the PSU job. He's talking about Belichick and Brady.

Gotcha. I think you're both right. That would make more sense.
I read it as saying he was a good offensive-minded HC at Penn State and here's what he had at Penn State. It seems Penn State always has a world-class tight end, so when he said he had some great tight ends, I was going to let it go.
But your way makes more sense. Thanks guys.

I guess he forgot about some guy named Kerry Collins?
