Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Greg Doyle(CBSSports) thinks it's an "all or nothing" deal for the NCAA.
I don't see that at all as there are plenty of options for the NCAA to punish the Ped State football program without completely shutting it down. I believe the NCAA may get "inventive" in this case.

I am among those who have been watching closely but not yet convinced that PSU would take a serious fall from all of this.

Not sure if this is a smoking gun - or a final nail in the coffin.

From an email sent to Curley and Spannier on April 7th, 2007. Sent from the account of assistant coach Sandi Segursky:

"I want to make sure everyone understands that the discipline of the players involved will be handled by me as soon as I am comfortable that I know all the facts.

Joe"

This email establishes that Paterno himself used email (sticking it up the butt of the Paterno family and their attorney who claimed the contrary). It further clarifies who was in charge at Penn State and Joe's relationship to the University President. Even though the discipline involved related to a fight (which is not subject to NCAA rules as I understand it), it opens wide the door to an NCAA investigation into institutional control.

And let's be clear about the NCAA. They watch their PR very closely. They will NOT investigate PSU and say to the world they liked what they saw.

Time for any and all PSU recruits whose families can connect two dots to come to Jesus.

We'll take Johnson with our first draft pick.

Now all I'm reading is, Joe reported it and the 3 stooges failed to do anything with it.

The man is an icon, legend, God, but now he is only a simple football coach who worked for THEM.

Again, those people are just being deliberately stupid.

My PSU buddy is in that deliberately stupid crowd. When we had our trials he was very outspoken "Tressel lied he's a fraud!" St. JoePa is going to be falling pretty hard in the next few weeks. MELT DOWN PSU CORE REACTOR!!!

RE: PSU Official: Freeh report going to be very tough on Paterno

Freeh report going to be very tough on Paterno

Who cares? An educational institution is not equipped to handle such situations. That is why they changed the reporting procedure. Conversely, if an educational institution was equipped, then they would not have to change anything. Joe did his job. If TC valued Joe's opinion, and Joe really did not know what to do, the that's TC's fault.

Re: There is no way PSU honors JoePa now.Reply WE (Lubrano, McCombie and Talieferro) will ask the questions. And Joe Paterno, absent any "smoking gun", will be honored. Of course, the members of the BOT involved in the Nov 9th decision just night not be members by the time that happens.
