Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

If Penn State wins the B1G they will jump us and we will be left out. I don't know why anyone in their right mind would want this.

Jump us to #1? Where would Bama go? #0? In my right mind, of course I wanted to beat Penn State. That said, fuck 'em. No way the committee leaves out a one loss Ohio State team that they have ranked as the second best team in the country based on a road win at a top 10 Oklahoma, a road win at a top 10 Wisconsin, a 62-3 thrashing of Nebraska and that is BEFORE putting a 42 spot up on their #3 Michigan. The playoff has only been around for 2 years before this year. There is plenty of room for new precedents.

Sometimes I think that there's no way they'll drop us to #5 if we beat Michigan State and a top-10 Michigan team (after we beat them, they won't be top-5). That would make something like 3 wins over top-10 teams, and a loss to a top-10 team. How do you leave the Buckeyes out?

This. The committee has to feel this way. They already know Ohio State does not control their own destiny and the likelihood of winning the B1G championship is slim to none. They still have Ohio State at #2. This is nowhere near the scenario that played out two years ago, so far. Ohio State is light years ahead, resume wise, of Texas Rape U and Gary Patterson's Horned Vagina's paper thin resumes. The B1G as a whole, is light years ahead of the Big12 from that season as well because it has a pulse and defenses.

However, since these poll results are about as useful as I am after 5:00, I'll use them to make fun of Penn State fans.

This post came after 5:00...

Alabama is in if they win out (likely). Clemson is in and would jump Ohio State if they win out (likely). Washington is in and will jump Ohio State if they win out (not as likely as the other two, but still likely). That leaves 1 spot. Ohio State would have to be ahead of 2 conference champs (Big 12 and B1G) - If Penn State wins against Wisconsin, I can't see how tOSU would get in over them, because they beat tOSU head to head, and would be B1G champions.
I predict the final Ranking would be
1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Washington
4. Ped State
5. tOSU
6. Big 12 Champ

Washington, who the committee has been dying to leave out and has a SOS around 1,000 gets in ahead of Ohio State? I'll go buy my end of the world supplies now.

Please explain how Washington's resume would be superior to Ohio State's if UW and tOSU win out.

UW wins against end-of-year ranked teams: Utah, possibly WSU (who plays Colorado and could easily lose and drop out), and the South Div winner.

tOSU wins against end-of-year ranked teams: Mich, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, possibly Neb. (Sure, Minnesota could beat Wisc. and Oklahoma could lose to WVU or the Pokes)

Washington will get left out unless Clemson and Louisville both lose again because of a horrendous OOC schedule (Rutgers, Idaho & Portland State), just like Baylor and TCU in 2014

The Huskies don't have enough marquee conference wins to make up for it. Their "best" conference wins are against a down Stanford and freaking Utah.

Washington is probably the hardest team to tab this year, because of lack of much good competition in conference and lack of much of any competition in their OOC. I think they are a good team, but not in the same conversation as Bama, tOSU or even scUM, Louisville or Clemson.

You have completely forgotten to take into account the Shizholians and the havoc they will wreak upon all that is Ped.

No way a 2 loss P$U jumps a 1 loss tOSU with our resume. I don't give a fuck if they beat us and win the BIG, it just ain't happening. And Clemson and Washington, I don't see happening with how close Clemson has come to losing multiple times with a bad loss at home to Pitt and as already mentioned, Washington's shit schedule.
