Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

There is much hilarity on BWI right now, but this thread in particular makes me laugh at poster AlphaLion75. In one of the many "Go Alabama" threads on the board, the Cult is discussing how respectful the Alabama fanbase has been when it comes to buying into the Cult's bullshit. Meanwhile, AlphaLion75 lives in Georgia and sets the board straight that Alabama fans are disrespectful "the moment I mention Joe Paterno's name."

I envision AlphaLion75 being the crazy, pain in the ass relative that everyone tries to avoid because he feels it is his duty to inform everyone that Obama was born in Kenya or Bush knocked down the World Trade Center or the benefits of Amway. Wonder how quick people try to get away from him when he starts dropping the Joesus FAX and EVIDENTS on them?

AlphaLion75: "I've been engaged in many respectful college football discussions, but strange how the attacks begin the moment I mention Joe Paterno's name."

I've been engaged in many respectful child rearing discussions, but strange how the attacks begin the moment I mention John Wayne Gacey's name."

Finally, a man of the highest integrity and character has come out and spoken up for Joesus. When you think of character and integrity in college sports, Rick Pitino's name has to be near the very top of the list. Naturally, the Cult is giddy at Pitino stating that ".....the one person I will never question in my life, as a young basketball coach, is Joe Paterno. He would be the one guy I hold above reproach of everything."

Pitino went on the mention that Joesus offered him the PSU basketball head coaching job in the '70s. Naturally, all the moralistic preaching from the Cult suddenly vanishes when a Rick Pitino praises Joesus.

PennStateNate: "What he does in his personal life is up to him, I am not his friend or a family member. That said he just won me over by this. We have been waiting for someone to say this stuff, who cares about what he did."

psahouse: "A friend of Joe's is a friend of mine! Way to go Coach."

Mt.Nittany: "When it all comes down to it, this is more than Todd Blackledge has said. More than Matt Millen has said. More than Sean Lee has said. Which is PATHETIC!

Bob78: "Good - glad someone has the balls to speak out on behalf of Joe.
I heard a similar story regarding Calipari - a couple of people were his guests a year or so ago at a game. They were both from Western PA, as is Calipari. One of them is now on the PSU BOT. Anyway, the first question he asked these guests was about Paterno and when PSU was going to do right by him. He said when this all went down, he was ready to speak out on Joe's behalf, and when the NCAA crap happened, he wanted to again. Kentucky told him not to."

JoeDidn'tKnow:
"God Bless Rick Petino. He loved Joe unlike our own BOT."

ChiTownLion: "Maybe Jim Delany will take the lead on this and proudly announce the return of Paterno's name to the Big Ten Conference Championship Trophy. *sigh...*

PennStateNate: "Coach Petino has made some mistakes, but I am not judge or jury. I am a Penn State fan and alumnus who cares about clearing Joe's name and restoring his honor. Happy to see one of MBB best coaches say this."

Norm Petersin: "He stepped up, like no other has. I am a Pitino fan now."

BobPSU92: "Well said, Coach Pitino. Very well said."

capkrokus:
"This is great, but sad at the same time. JVP's peers outside of the University had more respect then the people running the University he helped build did."

nittanyduck: "He certainly has gained my respect with those honest comments.

I think this is the start of a lot of people coming out supporting Joe and chastising Emmert and his clown show."

PSU Paul: "Gotta start with uncovering the hatchet job - need to be able to critique the Freeh Report 1st and maybe some more depositions and get the info out and then you'll see the turnaround. But the anchoring done by the AG's office followed by BOT travesty will be hard to turn around without the above needed help."

TXLion: "Another person Freeh should have taken the time to interview ... Just saying."

Ten Thousan Marbles: "This is a top shelf tribute to JVP."

LionWithTheDevil: "Yeah, people who cheat on their wife are all scumbags (eyes rolling)."

JoeBatters1: "I will always be a Pitino fan based on these comments alone."

Oblivax: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I am no fan a RP's, but today, I like him a lot."

PennStateNate: "Pitino made a mistake, but we SHOULD NOT be judge and jury. We are Penn Staters that have been waiting for something like this to happen."

PennStateNate: "What happened with Pitino is between him and his family, AlphaLion you aren't a Pitino so it's none of your business and you shouldn't judge the guy on it."

Mudge1026: "Until it can be proven undeniably that Pitino new about the hookers (current scandal) I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. As far as his infidelity he seems to have patched things up with his family so who am I to judge? I appreciate Pitino's kind words for Joepa. It's sad that "intimidation" kept alot of Paterno's coaching peers quiet."
