The sad thing to me is how Joe's reputation was destroyed because he didn't do enough. Criticism is usually focused on people that do bad things. Joe did the right thing, just not enough of it. I can't think of a person in history that was persecuted so severely for something like that (at least not in the last 2,000 years).
