Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

I'd like to know how many of those useless fucksticks at BWI are alumni. My guess is very few.

I dunno. It seems like a rather large portion of the posters on BWI at least claim to be alumni. The alumni voting for Board of Trustee seats each year since 2011 marches in lockstep to candidates endorsed on BWI as being the most crazy pro-Joesus candidates.

One of my favorite posts from the alumni association thread: Apparently, children being raped in the name of football isn't shamful, but donating to the alumni association is.

demlion: "I am fast coming to the point where I believe that those who donate to or annually pay dues to this alumni association are not just making a mistake, they need to be actively discouraged. it is becoming a badge people ought to be ashamed to wear."

1. I get the feeling that most are alumni. I get the feeling that if you aren't an alumnus, you aren't as good as those who are alumni. It's like, how far are you from Joesus? Heirarchy of enlightenment is like this: Joesus, close family of Joesus, close friends of Joesus, distant friends/family, those who have shaken his hand or met him, those who saw him outside of the stadium (walking on campus, or into/out of the ice cream shop, etc.), those who work at Penn State, those who go to school at Penn State (or have ever gone to school there), those who have been on campus, fans of Penn State, and then everyone else. The ones who are alumni are very vocal about it. Maybe they're a minority, but they're very vocal about it. The non-alumni - they seem to not have anything to say about it. Maybe because they feel they are not as good as those who are alumni.

2. Not really related, but I have a story about Penn State and alumni and fans. I was hanging out with a bunch of people during the 2007 game against Penn State. Most were Ohio State fans, but one lady was a Penn State fan. She was a Penn State grad. She wasn't obnoxious about that. And since Ohio State won, I enjoyed watching her show her disappointment in that. Anyway, she mentioned to whoever was around her at one point that she was amazed that there were so many Ohio State fans who didn't go to Ohio State. I don't remember who all was there, but I'd guess that if there were any Ohio State graduates (or even some who attended and didn't complete school at Ohio State), they were in a minority. I can't think of anyone who even went there. But most were Ohio State fans. (Some were there just to hang out with friends.) She said that Penn State doesn't have that. You're a fan of whichever school you went to, and that's it. Being a fan of Penn State and going to school at Penn State are the same.

Florence Nightingale gets into a pissing match with others over season win predictions

Walk the Walk

Unfortunately, I can see them going 9-3. They have a dogshit ooc schedule. Their cross-division games are Illinois and Northwestern, and they get Michigan at home. 10-2 is unlikely because Ohio State and Sparty are guaranteed losses, and somebody will upset them. If they go 7-5 with that schedule, Jimmy Franklin is truly a dogshit coach. Silver lining is that they'll get a bowl that their talent doesn't deserve and get plungered hard.

I've been putting a little extra away every month this offseason for the widows and referees fund. I'm pretty sure we will have enough to cost PSU a couple of extra games besides just OSU and MSU.

Don't tell anyone.

I think Indiana will give them more of a game than they expect, and Maryland (who beat them last year in Slappy Valley) get them in MT Bank stadium in Baltimore. And you never know what Michigan will do in Slappy Valley. Their OOC schedule has to be one of the softest in the country (Temple, Buffalo, San Diego State, Army)...

They have a right to be optimistic given that schedule, which will make the meltdown and turning on Franklin all that much better with a few upsets along with two proper rogerings from OSU and Sparty,

If Hack doesn't stay upright all season they could be looking at 6-6. But that schedule is so weak that 9-3 seems reasonable even if Franklin can't coach to the level of his salary.
