Penn State isn't just a Public Ivy, but an outright Ivy League school. Just ignore the fact that it isn't actually an Ivy League school... just the honors program has acceptance standards on par with the Ivies.

OK....let's pretend for a second that whatever this program they have is the best in the world at something or another. Who fucking cares...their meathead football players aren't going through it just like our meathead football players aren't going through anything either. They all just assume that Ohio State gives out grades for free without any kind of even an accusation of the sort....but nobody ever stops to question whether their dipshits are earning their degrees. You know...it's just different there because Joe. The dumbest thing I ever hear in these PSU academic smack contests is that PSU graduates their players. To me that sounds like PSU does the work. That's not something to be proud of.

It's funny because it's true. Joe isn't/wasn't just a person. He was a reason. He was the answer. I get this feeling about the fans just from message boards, but it seems like a student could write "Joe" for every answer on a test and be completely confident that he aced it. And maybe he would have. "When was the Declaration of Independance written?" Answer: Joe. BOOM!! 100%.

I get that feeling, too. "Joe graduated his players." Why? They couldn't do it on their own? How many thousands of non-athletes graduate each year, from either school? How did they do it without Joe? What was Joe's GSR for his players compared to the non-athletes? If GSR for football players was lower than the general average, then I'd say that's showing that he is putting football ahead of academics. Unless Joe's players graduated at a higher rate than the rest of the school, I won't give him any credit for pushing academics and graduation.

I was amused when somebody chimed in about how Woody had standards etc. They seemed to accept that on face value (I wasn't alive so I have no idea) ... but then responded that it's not a valid point because Woody is gone.
So....Joesus is still alive? The outside mercenaries of BOB and Franklin somehow learned the teachings of Joesus .... by just walking in his hallowed steps ? They actually believe those two ran bad programs at other places, but came to PSU and fell lockstep in with The Grand Experiment, despite nobody being left from the Golden Age to carry it forward (remember the BoT is evil, new President, a lot of new faces from the outside)
Of course their Parks&Rec program existed long before the new HCs so it's a nonstarter. It's just interesting to see how they think Joesus is still somehow "watching over" Penn State football.

heard the first reference to Brooklyn being some sort of Mecca to Pedstres by their beat writer on BTN last night.

Something to the effect that the B1G had to be excited about getting a Bowl game so close to where Joesus came down from heaven.

I'm really starting to think it isn't just the BWI cesspool that's deranged.
