I think they're two different animals. Landscape architecture is designing and building parks and shit. It's what Eddie George majored in before getting an MBA at Northwestern. Parks & Recreation is more maintaining the shit that your betters designed and built--you know, making sure that the grass is mowed, there's no squirrel crap in the sandbox and the teeter-totters are properly lubed. Of course, at ped state, most of the students sign up for the latter class thinking it'll instruct them into how to make sure that the tiny-tots are properly lubed.

It is just sad that they carry on so. You can bet that some of them are beavering away, trying to find some way to show that the ACT SAT score comparison can be slanted in their favor.

Penn State isn't just a Public Ivy, but an outright Ivy League school. Just ignore the fact that it isn't actually an Ivy League school... just the honors program has acceptance standards on par with the Ivies.

Essentially the tbux guy dropped the microphone on them. His only failing was that he didn't link directly to the common data set on the PSU website and failed to truly dig into the common data set and show the statistical gap in Ohio State's favor. Eventually, they'll do what they do with any inconvenient FACTS! and EVIDENTS. They'll flush them down the memory hole as if they never existed, and tomorrow morning, they'll awaken as if the hard cold statistical evidence that Ohio State has an average ACT of 29 and they have one of 27 will never have existed in their world. In some BWI groundhog day universe, they'll be capable of making the same completely erroneous arguments in every bit as strident a manner a week from now as if nobody had ever produced hard, verifiable evidence that they were wrong.
As for their honors college, I'm sure it's very similar to that of Ohio State (and almost all the other Big Ten universities) in both content and admissions requirements. That being said, those entry requirements are still a big step down from what it takes to get into a truly elite (Ivy, Chicago, Stanford, MIT/CalTech) school.
