The NCAA needs to find a way to get subpoena power or it will become "irrelevant" soon if it hasn't already.

Anything less then the B!G putting JoePa's name on the B!G trophy ( his and his alone ) is unacceptable.
We all know the B!G is in breach of contract, but if they want forgiveness, the B!G is going to have to do something truely B!G.
Put JoePa's name back on the trophy. That will get the media in America to shut up and change the narrative.

It's a fairly easy solution, actually.
Want to be a member of NCAA at Division x Subdivision y level? Give us unfettered access to the phone records, bank records, email accounts, etc. of all your AD personnel and scholarship athlete (bank accts only). Sign Power of Attorneys to NCAA allowing them to access info for the duration of their contract. Discover a coach is holding out? Warning to give immediate access within 48hrs, failure will result in assumption of guilt.
Is it draconian? Yes. But just like being a student-athlete is a privilege, so is it to coach for millions a year.
But the Universities would never agree to that. They're happy to have an org. that only provides a semblance of inconsistent enforcement for PR purposes. Can still get away with a lot, but can still say "well NCAA didn't find anything so we're good".
