Perhaps we can establish a poll for BuckeyePlanet on this issue once and for all .... Is PSU our Rival or not ?

Once we decide we can put this issue to bed as to how us BuckeyePlaneters view those mutants.

I vote NO. There is only one rival ....
We did that before. As I recall only a couple of people actually believe the “they are a rival” narrative.

Ah yes, who can forget that rivalry with Maryland and Rutgers.

As timeless as Vanderbilt vs Alabama.
Clearly you don’t know the meaning of the word. Our conference rivals are technically every other team in the conference. It doesn’t mean they have to be much of a threat. There are degrees. With the conference split into two divisions, cross-division rivalries are much less important. That’s why OSU and Michigan have to be in the same division. It’s also why Michigan and MSU have to be in the same division. And it’s why OSU and PSU have to be in the same division.

That’s why Delany got it wrong with the Legends and Leaders split but at least he realized his error and fixed it. The only serious rivalry that is split across divisions now is IU-Purdue and they’re not often going to be competing for a conference championship anyway. But they’ll still always play each other every year and sometimes the outcome of the game will determine which team becomes bowl eligible.
