Game Thread Penn State at tOSU, Oct 26, 8 ET, ABC

Ah yes....it all makes sense. The B1G sent their hatchet crew in for the OSU/PSU game to make sure Ohio State could stay undefeated and collect all that BCS money from the bowl game we weren't allowed to play in.

I also find it funny in that, isn't the bowl money spread amongst all teams in the Big Ten? After expenses, I mean. Maybe Penn State doesn't get their share for a few years, but does Ohio State get more money than Purdue does, regardless of who goes to the Rose Bowl, or the Outback Bowl, or the Old Rubber Boot Bowl? I thought it was the same.

Of course, I know the benefit of going to the BCS bowl is also in the additional media exposure for recruits, more excitement for the players, more merchanidise sales, and I'm sure I'm missing a billion other things. But as far as what the conference gives to the teams, I thought it was split amongst all teams evenly.

It is.

I also like how this crew that's out to fuck over Penn State in favor of Ohio State wasn't willing to fuck over Illinois in favor of Ohio State in 2007. And for whatever fucked up reason they needed us to stay undefeated last year, they still felt the need to make horrible calls against Ohio State vs Purdue. Like when Braxton fumbled, grabbed the ball and laid on top of it, then had it ripped out from under him. PURDUE BALL!!

Now that I think about it.......that game was a conspiracy to keep Ohio State from winning, but we're so good that we overcame the cheating refs. HOLY SHIT WE'RE REALLY GOOD!!!

UFM took a 6-7 team completely lacking focus and drive and took them to 12-0 in a season when they were playing for pride and basically nothing else. No, they aren't nearly as talented as a whole as some of the Cooper teams, but those teams never went 12-0 either.
You missed my thought completely, I was not talking about our current teams talent level.. I was talking about the talent level of the Big Ten in whole currently. There was much better competition in the B1G across the board in the 90's and early 2000's than there is now. Creating a streak of 19 to 20 games would have been more difficult then. Reread what I wrote with an open eye this time, cause I think you were half a sleep to gather what you gathered from what was written.

Well, when you have a coach who for over two decades brought in his handpicked crews to ref home games giving him the benefit of some of the worst calls in college football history, the notion that--when forced to deal with conference wide neutral officiating--sometimes calls and bad calls will go against you is alien.

There's a reason none of those Eastern independents would join JoePed's proposed conference and blackballed him out of the Big East first thing upon arriving there.

Bold prediction: Penn State will get a "targeting" penalty, and the ejection will get reversed. (The Penn State player will be allowed to stay in the game.) The very next drive, Ohio State will get a "targeting" penalty, and it will not get reversed.
Ohio State 45
Penn State 28

Can we just kick those assholes out of the conference already? Worst bunch of fans possible. Their sports teams have done nothing for our conference since they've been here. We added Rutgers and Maryland, let the ACC/ACAC/BigLeast/EastCoastConference or whatthehellever they're called have em.

It'll be interesting to see how Fickell/Withers decide to handle Robinson. They had Roby shadowing Abbrederis three weeks ago, rather than lining BR up as the boundary corner. I think that caused some confusion with both he and Grant being asked to take on different roles than they're accustomed to. On the flip side, the second-order effect worked as intended, with a safety walking down into the box to guard against Gordon and White.

Since PSU doesn't seem to be as dangerous on the ground, I think we'll see things go back to normal with cover 3. Up a level, I'm interested in seeing how much time Powell gets as opposed to Perry...they lose a bit in run support but Josh doesn't look very comfortable against tight ends, and PSU's are every bit as strong as Iowa's.
