Wisconsin was undefeated and ranked in the top 10. They lost a heart breaker at Michigan after being up 19-0 at the half. The next week they played very physical and lost "a tough one" to Ohio State. I'm sure they think they should have won both games.
Now it will be intereting to see how Wisconsin responds playing Penn State. It will be another night game with a large TV audience. My guess is that Wisconsin will beat Penn State.
However if you notice how may vDollars I have, you will know that my track record on vBet guesses is not real good.
Wisconsin looks to recover against Penn State
MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin has found itself dropped from the Top 25 rankings following back-to-back losses against Big Ten opponents for the second year in a row.
Coach Bret Bielema wouldn't say Monday during his weekly news conference whether he thought expectations were too high for his team, which rose to No. 5 in the ranking before falling out following the losses.
"Expectations are high on this team, and we like them to be high as long as I'm here," said Bielema, who's posted a 24-7 record since taking over as head coach in 2006. "It's better to have high expectations than low expectations."
This year's fall is reminiscent of last season when Wisconsin rose to a No. 5 ranking on Sept. 30 but dropped out of the polls after back-to-back losses to Illinois and Penn State. The Badgers finished the season ranked 24th.
This year, the team rose to a No. 8 ranking after starting the season 3-0 but hasn't won since.
If the Badgers (3-2, 0-2 Big Ten) hope to recover from its two losses, they will have to do it against No. 6 Penn State.
"We've got a tremendous challenge on our hands and an opportunity to right the ship," Bielema said.
The Nittany Lions come to Camp Randall Stadium for a night game Saturday. The game has lost some luster following Wisconsin's losses the past two weeks to conference rivals No. 12 Ohio State (5-1, 2-0) and Michigan (2-3, 1-1).
The team lost both games by a combined five points.
"We're five points away from being a 5-0 football team," Bielema said.
Bielema said he was "happy and proud" of how the team competed in the 20-17 loss to Ohio State, and it will be as healthy as it's ever been heading into the Penn State game.
