Penn State 48, Wisconsin 7 (Final)

I'm more concerned with winning the Big Ten's automatic BCS bid than moving up the rankings. I don't think there's a chance in hell the voters would put us into the NC game again even if we run the table, so defending our conference crown is the ticket.

I guess we'll have to see, I do have faith in the Bucks to get the Big Ten Title. But I want to see them in the NC game every year, no matter what. Look what happen last year, we needed like like 6 things to happen, and they ALL did :) Not that the result of the NCG was what I wanted, I rather have that chance to play in that game, instead playing USC again in the Rose Bowl.

We have become spoiled as Buckeye faithful, to where we expect to be in the National Championship picture. And it is true that the most improbable situation enabled us to got to the BCS last year. Most modern day Buckeye fans that are under 30 care more about the BCS than the Big 10. It is the change of times with the addition of the BCS format and making the Rose Bowl a hair less important today. With modern media, NCAA football is national not regional. And while it is great to win the Big 10... we carry our Buckeye pride from Hawaii to Maine and around the world.

It is agonizing to think about all of the situations. But, there truly is the possibility that Pryor and Wells start really jelling this team and they go on a roll. Just imagine for a second that OSU beats PSU 44-17... does this not propel a little interest into the Buckeyes? By handing a top 5 team a big loss by a "new look" team... people start to think "what if?" . Then other teams start to eliminate themselves as the Buckeyes creep towards the top 3-5 again.

An argument could be made. It could be far fetched and bias... but, it is not impossible.

So for now... this younger generation Buckeye will still look for our Buckeyes to find a way back into the hunt. And by keeping PSU's ranking high untill we play them... will only help the cause.

No, it won't matter. The current group has been given three chances and failed in all of them pretty badly. Doesn't help that we were outgained by Purdue and didn't score an offensive TD.

If the new personnel had resulted in us getting 40-50 per game, there would be an argument. But, honestly, our offense looks fucking terrible right now. We're Ohio State. That's all that matters. Focus on the Big Ten title and the Rose Bowl. National Championship hopes our out of question, especially if our offense keeps sputtering.

Hopefully this game is awesome. /on topic

Every Buckeye fan should be hoping Wisconsin can pull this one out. It does us NO GOOD if Penn State wins. Who cares what they are ranked when we play them. I don't care if we are ranked 5th or 10th. We aren't going to be in the top 2, nor should we be. But we do have a great chance of winning the Big Ten...and to me that is goal #2 every year (right behind goal #1 which is beating Michigan)...GO BADGERS!!! Even though I think PSU will be too much for Bucky.

Last year was before we lost a second consecutive NC game and got blown out by USC. The voters will put a couple of two loss SEC or Big XII teams in the NC game before they put us there this year. Save the NC dreams for next year because we're not getting a third straight bid this year, no matter what happens.

This game is over. Penn State is playing pretty good on the road at night. I still think our A game will win the game for us on the 25th, but anything less than our best, and we lose. This is the best Penn State team in quite a few years.
