Penn State 38, Illinois 24 (Final)

Addition by subtraction.

Spot on! We had 2 good QB sitting behind Morelli but Joe was loyal, same with how Zach Mills started infront of MRob. The consensus was that he cost the team 3 wins last year. OSU would've beat PSU but the other 3 teams had to have his help to win. I wish Morelli well and not at all sour about those losses. People are more important than football and Morelli was a 5* prospect and actually has a pro level QB arm. Sometimes people succeed when you give them chances and sometimes they don't no matter how hard they try.

Also, Herbie actually said before last season that Royster was going to be known by CFB fans by Oct but he never had a chance because Joe was loyal to Austin Scott. Against weak teams Morelli/Scott were fine, but against good teams we were in trouble. Plus the Oline is not as experienced as this year. Hopefully all the additions we have will show up at the Shoe this year and won't disappoint you guys like previous times.

No doubt...and it would appear that the QB position wasn't the only addition by subtraction position. And while we all knew that Morelli was a mediocre QB, it's only natural for us to assume that if he was the best they had, then when he was gone, they'd be even worse. I guess what I'm saying is that it's hard, especially hard for outsiders, to predict when addition by subtraction will take place. PSU is clearly better than I thought they'd be...I honestly thought they would be near the bottom of the B10 this year. It would appear I was wrong...again.

What I took from the PSU/Illi game was that PSU has a more diverse offense than last year and the defense is solid, but definitely beatable. When the Bucks play PSU, I now expect a closer game than I would have imagined in August. And PSU has built confidence...which is always a huge factor in college football. I expect a great game.

Did you see the games or you just know everything? That was my opinion when I saw the games. If Joe pulled the starters out before the half, what would you call that? Then he put the starters back in with 2 minutes before half time so he can run the score up when they already have a 5 tds lead?? Same with running Stefon Green up the middle in short yardage. He's not a power back.

And keep talking about OOC pansies as if OU, Troy and Youngstown are part of the Big10. We had Bama scheduled but they(Bama, because of probation) wanted to move the games back a couple years at the last minute. No one liked PSU to play Coastal Carolina but do you think they would have trouble with OU, Troy, or Youngstown? Syracuse was decent when they were being added on the schedule and OrSU was top 25 the past 2 seasons. OrSU may not be bad team, they out-gained Stanford by almost 200yds in the other loss.

If you can access espn360.com, watch some games before you dish out opinions. I'm not at all knowledgeable about football but I didn't go around trashing OSU about the loss. That's a lot more I can say for some of "OSU's fans".
WE ARE
FULL OF EXCUSES

don't try to tell me whoever is really coaching Penn State and Tressel handle substitutions and calling off the dogs the same.....all while you're jacking up 700 points against high schoolers.

odd that you decided to leave 1 team off of our OOC list...

Yes, I did leave one team off your OOC list on purpose because I didn't really want to embarass you but you struggled to understand that. Oh, and one of those high schoolers team on our schedule beat USC, I'm sure you didn't understand what happened at USC for the buckeyes. Now do you feel better? Did whoever read these posts for you skipped the sentence that "we had Alabama scheduled but they backed out on us"? I'm sure you personally scheduled a 1-1 against USC at the last minute.

I don't give a fuck who you had scheduled or who was good when they were scheduled. The fact remains, your non-conference schedule was a fucking joke. Slam on YSU, Troy, and Ohio all you want.....they're still better than Coastal Carolina, Temple, and Syracuse.

But you do have that transitive property thing going for you. I guess that makes you as good as Stanford.

BuckeyeNation27 ----I don't give a [censored] who you had scheduled or who was good when they were scheduled.

What did USC do so far to make them superior to OrSU? So far they dominated VA (Duke dominated VA). The other team they beat is tOSU, this is how they get their lofty #9 ranking. And tOSU played no one else notable but USC to get their #14 ranking?

You're saying your cupcakes are tougher than our cupcakes? What do we need to do to make our cupcakes tougher, struggle with them? The fact is that none of these sub-division teams should win, they are paid to show up and be road-kill. What did you want the coach to do, take a knee the whole second half with the 3rd stringers in there?

How do you know Stanford won't beat USC? See I can be unreasonable too! I never slammed your OOC schedule, you slammed our schedule and as you see, it's unreasonable for you to do so at this point.

If you think Troy is on par with Coastal Carolina, Temple, and Syracuse, you're delusional.

It looked to me like Minny was a bit better than Troy. Better offense. Not quite as good defense.
How good is Illinois? We know their offense is still pretty good but their running game is not quite as good as last year.
Their defense is way worse. They really miss Lehman and those 2 safeties.

You left USC out of the discussion because it shot your whole cupcake theory to shit. Trying to compare schedules when we had arguably the best team of the decade at their place is laughable. To be honest though, none of that shit matters. They'll settle this argument on the field.

You need to understand that folks on this board have a good degree of hatred for your program. So things said on here are rarely positive. Add to that, the fact that PSU has stunk it up big time recently and you'll find absolutely zero respect for your Lioness'. Meanwhile, PSU, to all of our surprise, is obviously considerably better than any of us Buckeye fans suspected. Based upon your team being absolutely lousy last year and then losing your starting QB, most here assumed another dismal year. Now PSU has come out looking solid...our fanbase has yet to adjust to that and will not adjust to that unless PSU beats the Bucks...soundly. Any other result will only end in more kitty name calling. It's a Buckeye board....it's what happens on the other team's board. And considering the almost unnatural amount of loathing for PSU around here, it's worse for you than other teams.
i dont think most osu fans understand the flip side. who is penn states biggest rival?
