Penn State 31, Notre Dame 10 (final)

I hope I have enough posts on this board to get the benefit of the doubt. I didn't know where eslse to post my disgust. The "lil" 11 is in big trouble. scUM has single handedly fucked us up. We have no benefit of the doubt. Nor does PSU. Or wiscy. If any of the 3 go undefeated we will be lucky to be voted in the top 2 and given a shot at the BCS. We are the laughing stock of the football world. Sorry, this the point of view of an east coast buckeye. It's rough right now!

Uhh, Weis got ND to the fiesta bowl with mostly if not allTy Willingham players.
Sure, the 03 class. Then Ty didn't even make the top-25 for two years, while mediocre classes like WSU, Wash & ASU broke that t-25.
Take a glance at our record the last 5 years, all signs point to no.
Which plays right into their argument. 1 + 0 + 0 + 1 + 1 does not equal 5, and is significantly less than 3 when factoring the inexperience.

Anyone compare this to the 1-AA rushing stats yet? They might be dead last in BOTH leagues.

Games Played = 1
Bottom 3 Rushing teams in 1-AA

#102 Portland State = -10 Yrds
#103 Marist = -14 Yrds
#104 Jackson State = -29 Yrds

Which means they are 4th from the bottom in 1-AA, assuming none of the 3 teams above move up in game 2, which they might, leaving Notre Lame last in rushing for over 200 teams

Here's a positive for ND fans. Once again, Zbikowski showed great speed chasing down an opponent's touchdown. Of course, when the returner cut back, Zibby missed on the arm tackle, but, man, what closing speed. :wink2:

Just reading the box score and play-by-play brings to mind a question.

How many meaningful 1st downs did the ND offense generate yesterday?

I exclude from their tally of 9 the following ...

Any 1st down generated by Penalty.
Any First Downs that come at the end of a half as time is running of the clock, and the Lions are simply keeping the play in front of themselves.

So, how may meaningful drive extending First Downs did ND make yesterday on their own?

OK - 5 made first downs not attributable to PSU screwing up.

Oh, yes, what a wonderful bunch of Catholic Schoolboys Weis is training in South Bend these days.

Neither ND Altar Boy was ejected.

The ACC is still the worst and the Big-East isn't much better.

ACC maybe, but its time to quit looking down our nose at the BE.

UC just rolled a Pac10 school and USF went to Auburn and did what a top of the division B12 team could not do. They beat Auburn in Auburn.

WVU and L'ville may not have great defenses(or even good ones) but they are legit teams. Hell at this point I'd say Rutgers is no worse than a Minnesota or Iowa.

I have as much conference pride as anyone but its time to just keep our mouths shut on the whole topic. Almost every B10 team struggled with a MAC team this week, Oregon humiliated tsun and PSU didn't beat NoD any worse at home than GT did on the road.

Maybe later this year we can talk but right now the B10 is playing like one of, if not the worst conference.
