Peach Bowl: #1 Georgia vs #4 tOSU, Sat 12/31 8 ET on ESPN

It’s so strange to me…

I think we’re going to get embarrassed.

I think all of our ugly tendencies show their heads yet again.

I think all of the Ryan Day hate will be justified.

I won’t want Ryan Day to be forced out or leave for an NFL job…..I cant really make it make sense, but it’s where I’m at.

I still think he will be a great coach once CFP goes 12 teams I guess is my biggest justification.

yeah, you just can't make the mistakes this team does and beat elite teams like UGA. They make you pay for every mistake. Going to take an effort, discipline, and a level of execution we haven't seen from this team almost all year. They have play-makers to compete, but can they play a complete, 4 quarter game? We'll see.

Clemson 2020 and Utah show he has some Dog in him.

But TSUN and 2019 Clemson shows he puckers at times as well. I just hope he follows his own advice from the 2nd life. Play loose and call it loose like like you did Utah. If they come back keep swinging go for 4th at mid field and let it all hang out if you lose you lose. But don't play and call it so tight you make mistakes and let it snowball on you.
Clemson 2020 was a kind of an anomaly. A Ryan Day team hadn't played like that (meaning with that kind of edge and energy) up to that point, or since. At best, the credit maybe should go to Fields and some of the other guys on that team, and not that Day was able to light a fire under them.

Utah doesn't count, imo, because it's easy to bring out the dog and play loose when there's nothing on the line.

I'd argue the Offense did vs Utah. Defense was kind of a clown show though. But other then maybe MSU 2021 yeah there hasn't really been all parts of team energy like that it always seems if one side is killing it the other is struggling.

First half of this season felt very good. '20 & '21 were never going to feel good because of the DC and lack of DBs.

This defense was never going to be shutdown, but they can cause enough havoc to disrupte a lot of teams and hold them to the mid 20s or low 30s. They just can't scheme like it's 1930 and zero blitz.

It'll rest on the offense to score 35 and above. If Williams is healthy they might be able to get there, but it's hard to have confidence after the 2nd half of the season.

No exactly. I think these two teams are more evenly matched then all of us think. Basically a dead heat on 5 stars and also projected 1st rounders.

Will we lose? Likely. Will we lose big? Maybe.

Can we win? Absolutely we can.

Everyone talks up UGA. Particularly their defense.

But that defense has faced 1 good offense in Tennessee (spare me the Oregon stuff) which was in Athens in the rain. They faced I think 2 top 30 offenses meanwhile Ohio State on offense has played 5 or 6 defenses already in the top 30. IMO we've seen good defense and UGA will not be this juggernaut that we don't know how to handle.

The main question is how our defense holds up who's #11 in the country (ahead of UGA btw) but has played some dreadful teams. The three times we faced anyone with a pulse we gave up 30 or more. If the defense can force a few turnovers and get off the field for a few more I really like our chances.

I believe Ryan when he says they'll need to score 40 to win. I believe we'll be aggressive on offense and that'll be a welcomed change. I also know that we defend the RB/TE throw game well and that their leading WR might not play.

I think this defense actually is embarrassed for their last 2 outtings, I believe Knowles when he says they added things this bowl prep, and I think our defense has the kind of guys to actually play inspired (unlike our offense).

Overall, I'm glad we have this opportunity. It's fun having a game mean something like this instead of another Rose Bowl. I am at peace with that we probably aren't winning this game but I'm cautiously optimistic that if our defense can force a few turnovers that we can pull the upset.

“spare me the Oregon stuff”? Why? They had the #4 offense in the country.

Was just going thru my mind the list of players who were severely limited v Michigan beyond the trope of "it's the 12th game of the year nobody is healthy".

JSN
Hendo
Myian
Stover
Ransom
Tommy E
Matt Jones
Stover
Royer?
Wypler
Hall
Cam Brown
Hancock?
Burke

Seems abnormally high.
Still time for this season to be considered awesome but if it isn't I think injuries may have been a greater factor then coaching.

Team has been snake bit as of late from our absurd stance on COVID that made the 2020 title game a joke, to the flu last year v Michigan (though that seems really soft), to this years inabil;ity from day1 to every get healthy.
