Pat Haden fires USC baseball coach Chad Kreuter

Pat Hayden isn't wasting time making his mark at USC. Kreuter's teams got killed by UCLA and that's not going to cut it at USC. Won't have an effect on the Buckeyes at the D-classic -- USC's not changing players between now and then.

Wow..i thought krueter had dodged a bullet. I never thought they would wait this late to let him go.

I'm also a bit surprised todd raleigh managed to hang on at UT.

Evidently the interim will handle USC this year.

Even though only approx. .500 record, I think Raleigh stays for awhile. Just guessing.

Do they go after UCLA coach John Savage? Seems like a lateral move, but UCLA baseball was dead in the water pre-Savage, and he was pitching coach at USC for awhile.

I may be biased, but I don't see it as a lateral move (USC 12 CWS titles, ucla 0). I think Savage will get a long look, but I don't know who is the top candidate. Obviously SC feels it can get a really good coach since it is willing to wait.
