LOS ANGELES ? Bryce Taylor scored a career-high 32 points, making every shot he took, and No. 16 Oregon routed Southern California 81-57 yesterday to win the Pacific 10 Conference tournament title. If I didn't want to talk about it, I would've stayed out of the thread. Sounds like someone can dish it out, but can't take it.
you still don't get it. a couple posters point out that your team was embarrassed, and all you can do is bring up the jerseys worn by a non-conference program. that is weak and wholly unrelated to how your team was pummeled. if you would have stated, "i like ham sandwiches," that would have had as much relevance to losing to the ducks by almost 30 points as making a comment about our team's jerseys.

That's one way of looking at it. Here's another: You started talking trash and I responded. You then try to take a strained reading of my post to suggest that I valued appearance over performance, when the only honest reading of my post indicates I valued independence (Not being controlled by Nike) over success (not losing badly to Oregon).

Abandoning that line, you then plead relevance. Leaving aside the issue that you are taking this banter way too seriously, what does relevance matter? To my knowledge, you're a tOSU fan and in no way an Oregon fan. After you jumped in with the walk-ons barb, what would you have me do? Talk about Oregon to stay 'relevant' while you continue to snipe from the corner?

Besides, my comment was a lot more relevant than you make it out to be. After all, Oregon is Nike's #1 lab rat.

yes, you did respond. you responded by bringing up something completely irrelevant to oregon's manhandling of usc.
the only honest reading of my post indicates I valued independence (Not being controlled by Nike) over success (not losing badly to Oregon).
again, uniforms--especially ohio state's--have nothing to do with your team's pitiful showing against oregon. by the way, our jersey change actually serves an on-court function.

i "plead relevance" because this is a thread about pac 10 basketball... not college basketball fashion.
Leaving aside the issue that you are taking this banter way too seriously,... After you jumped in with the walk-ons barb, what would you have me do?
yeah, and i'm the one taking this too seriously. :roll1:
Talk about Oregon to stay 'relevant' while you continue to snipe from the corner?
i wasn't "continuing to snipe." i made a single comment about the game. you took offense and went off on a tangent. if you can't take someone making a light-hearted comment, you shouldn't post here. reread my comment. it was neither mean-spirited nor over-the-top. we make harsher comments about each other's favorite comedians.
Besides, my comment was a lot more relevant than you make it out to be. After all, Oregon is Nike's #1 lab rat.
nice attempt at a backpedal. by the way, why doesn't usc release the terms of their contract with nike? do you really think that jersey style is the sole reflection of autonomy?

honestly, though, did your walk-ons start against the ducks?

Tough, deal with it. You're on BP. Every single thread here is either off-topic or scheduled to be taken off-topic.

not college basketball fashion.

I see that independence vs. aesthetics distinction still hasn't sunk in.

yeah, and i'm the one taking this too seriously. :roll1:

Well, (1) you took a barb from me and tried to extract some underlying philosophy and (2) you threw out the Aryan Brotherhood thing, so yes.

i wasn't "continuing to snipe." i made a single comment about the game. you took offense and went off on a tangent.

You are right, I mis-characterized your single comment as "continuing to snipe." What's funny is you point out this distinction and then turn around and characterize my single comment as "went off on a tangent."

I don't know why you're assuming that I can't take it. I didn't take offense. I didn't go off on a tangent. I responded with another light-hearted comment.

Not a backpedal. Why would SC release the terms of a contract? Where did I say jersey style was the sole reflection of autonomy?

honestly, though, did your walk-ons start against the ducks?

That Oregon offense makes you jealous, doesn't it

okay, moderator. :roll1:

is see that irrelevance vs. relevance still hasn't sunk in.
Well, (1) you took a barb from me and tried to extract some underlying philosophy...
the "underlying philosophy" is that you'd rather bring up something irrelevant to your team's shellacking at the hands of oregon. but, hey, thanks for stating on a buckeye board that we're nike's bitch.
and (2) you threw out the Aryan Brotherhood thing, so yes.
i guess you didn't read or understand what surrounded that comment.
What's funny is you point out this distinction and then turn around and characterize my single comment as "went off on a tangent."
my friend, a single comment can go off on a tangent. you brought up osu's uniforms when the discussion was about the ducks' shellacking of the trojans. one has nothing to do the with the other. that is a tangent.
I didn't go off on a tangent. I responded with another light-hearted comment.
see above.
That Oregon offense makes you jealous, doesn't it.
no, and your defense certainly doesn't. obviously, neither does your offense. both were pathetic.

i'm done with you and this discussion. any response will not be responded to. if you wish to post in futility, feel free. i won't be surprised at all if you do. in fact, i expect it.

Obviously, methomps and OSU_Buckguy need a room.

It could happen next week if USC wins two games in Spokane and advances to the East Regional site in East Rutherford, NJ.

That looks like a double-dog dare to make a post, so you can be blamed for needing to have the last word.

Soon we will witness the "coup de grace of all dares, the sinister triple-dog-dare".
