Holy crap. I did the first day's workout after I got off work tonight and I'm already sore. I think I made the mistake of eating something right before I got started and had the awesome feeling of wanting to throw up the whole time. I skipped Ab Ripper X as well. I think I'm going to truly get started next Monday and get a on good/healthy diet after easter.

Today is my rest day having completed week two. While week one was a miserable grind, I feel like I was in much better shape to breeze through this past week. I am going to enjoy the day off today since I think I might have tweeked a hammy going balls-out for height while doing Kenpo yesterday.

I'm also about a full week into a primal/paleo diet mostly void of grains (E.g., Sugar, gluten, carbs), and I have been smoke-free for about three weeks (guess I'm going to have to change my avatar). I even managed to go a morning without coffee. I would never consider quitting coffee, I just did it one day to see if I could. I think that was harder than quitting smoking, and I've been smoking longer than I've been drinking coffee.

Just started week 3 and I can tell a big difference in how I feel going through the workouts, especially the Ab Ripper. The first week I was struggling to keep up and do all the reps and now I can. I also feel a lot better then I have in a long time.

I'm like you, Plyometrics kicked my ass the first time I did it. I made it through but with minimal reps.

Plyometrics will kick anyones ass the first time they do it. It's explosive lengthening muscle contractions that your body normally doesn't do. Just don't do too much too quickly. You can cause some damage that can take a long time to heal.

You folks make a very compelling argument for me to continue to make zero effort to try to get in better shape.

Really, once you look past all the aches, pains, debilitating injuries that require us to stop working out for three weeks, and the fact most of us can't lift our arms over our heads because our shoulders are shredded from all the pushups and pullups, you'd realize we're in the best shape of our lives! :)

I have friends (who are married to each other) who are actively involved in a number of these in-house programs. I've yet to take on the P90X as I'm actively going to the gym 4-5 days a week, and I want to continue with my present program.

The word I got from my two friends is that Insanity is a level up from P90X. One "benefit" is that you needn't buy anything for it. It's just you.

Just passing it on for those who want something else after the 90 days of P90X are done.

Ah, someone stole my idea. Just run around your house, throwing your arms and kicking your legs and scream for an hour per day and there's you're workout.

P90X is a tough one, especially with a job and a life.
