Back in college I used to, and yes I was ripped. I did follow exercise books that were out at the time. Now, no effing way. My body just doesn't recover like it used to, and I get injured way to easy. I just got over an intercostal tear (that really sucks for anyone that has had it), before that a sprained ankle, before that a pinched nerve in my neck, it goes on and on. I am just falling apart.
maybe you should advocate for no touch icing.... :shake:

I got through all 90 days. My main problem with the whole program is how they kind of jam thier whole diet thing down your throat. The exercises are nice and did make me feel better and gave me some tone. I recommend it for people who are hardcore about dieting and exercising.

The introduction disc you watch just pissed me off a little. They tell you on TV about how the workouts will get you ripped and you look completely different, but to have that become a reality you need to follow your diet(which is so cleverly left out in the commercials). Obviously you need a good diet, but their shit is really expensive and I kinda felt a little jipped cause I couldn't get the full thing out of it. It is what you make of it, its tough in the beginning, esp. the ab workout, but you will see results, just don't plan on looking like most of the guys from TV.

This morning was day 3 of 90 (arms and shoulders)... I'm 3.3% of the way done.

I am trying to eat 5 smaller meals a day but haven't started on their diet yet. Also i would like to find a good off brand for some protein bars and recovery drink. (i don't want anything to do with a product that brady quinn endorses).

I'm not planning on getting ripped but i want to feel a lot better... Right now i've got a good 50 pounds to loose.

I hate to say it but this workout is really all about the diet. I still saw results without it, just not what I expected. It definately will have you feeling much better and feel like you have more energy, so if that's what your looking for stick with it! Good Luck!

That's marketing techniques..IMO You're better off buying books or using the net to educate yourself on dieting and exercise. Research is much cheaper and it's something that will always be there to continuously learn from and personally experience to draw your own conclusions. I'm not saying any workout is bad,because it's working towards giving you better health..In general,a lot of times workouts are marketed towards people sitting on the couch saying " i want to look like that guy"..The only thing is that guy has been training for years,and dieting just as much. You have to make lifestyle choices to tolerate it.When you see the benefits from it,things are slowly,but steadily more tolerable.

I hated the yoga routine the most in that whole thing. it's too long.

the first 4 week interval is actually fairly easy. the chest-shoulder-tri workout later is tough. So much of making it through the program is having a strong core. if you can get through the Core Synergistics routine fairly easy, then overall this won't be that tough.

But, if you're like me, and have two knees full of bone spurs, then P90X is not very fun, especially Plyometrics.

I'm confused. They are very up front about following the diet part in the commercials. What is so special about it that makes it unaffordable?

Skip the protein bars and eat from more sources that are naturally high in protein. It's better for you, significantly cheaper in the long run, and many protein-rich sources will have you feeling full.

Go to your grocery store and buy a box of Bumble Bee tuna or pink salmon packets. If you're not allergic to seafood, a 5oz packet of salmon packs 28g of protein and 0 carbs into a fist sized meal that's only 120 calories. The "eat five fist sized meals-a-day" angle was popularized by Body for Life; I presume P90x has a similar angle to sell their own protein bars and shakes like BFL does (EAS = BFL).

Oh, and eat more veggies. Eat more eggs. Eat mor chikin! There is a huge variety of many healthy, naturally occuring real foods out there to waste your money eating the same protein bar every day.

My main complaint about protein bars is that virtually all of them use some carcinogenic artificial sweetener to sweeten the faux chocolate, and that stuff IS NOT good for you. Sure you'll be ripped. Too bad you'll be dead from cancer before you're 50. If it says "0 calorie," check the label and see if it contains aspartame, saccharin, or sucralose. If it does, put it down and keep on walking. You know why it's 0 calories? Because it doesn't occur naturally in nature, so your body can't process it. That's not healthy living.

Funny, I just began typing "aspartame" into Google because I wasn't sure if it was spelled with -ame or -eme, and Google's auto-complete suggestion list starts:

aspartame poisoning
aspartame dangers
aspartame and pregnancy

aspartame cancer
