P.J. Fleck (Boat Rower, HC Minnesota Golden Gophers)

He just signed a seven-year extension (through 2026) so I'd imagine the buyout would be enormous...

But is that extension binding yet? It apparently has to be approved by the Minnesota Board of Regents.

This might give Fleck’s attorneys the ability to still use the original contact buyout.

[Also- anybody else curious why that Watch Stadium article about Fleck has a pic of Ryan Day?]

Good timing by Minnesota. He’s doing an incredible job with the talent he’s got.
Agreed. But it's going to be interesting trying to acquire better talent in Minnesota, not exactly fertile ground for talent and tough to get kids from outside the midwest(same problem in Nebraska). This may be Minny's ceiling this year(and I'm sure Gopher fans are fine with that)

Look at the job he did at WMU. Had some absurd recruiting classes.

Well Gopher fans ran off Mason for "not being able to get them to the next level" once so I know they have that syndrome in them but I wonder if the existence of the B1G West gives all of those teams an outlet now that didn't used to be there?

Meaning all of the B1G West fanbases can now consider winning the West and a trip to Indy The Goal while at the same time being realistic about their chances vs The East (OSU).

Because Stadium’s own Brett McMurphy is obsessed with Ohio State, and I will not “watchstadium” unless I’m pumping gas at Speedway and can’t avoid it.

Minnesota QB was 18-20 for 339 and 3 TDs..

16.95 YPA is incredible.
He threw 7 times toward Bateman and completed all 7 for 203 yards.

That's official, but not accurate. He threw his direction once in the fourth quarter and got a PI call on PSU. A disappointing 15 yards instead of the 29 average on the first 7.
