No mercy
As I am looking towards this Saturdays clash between ND and Tennessee, I got to thinking about how Tenn. started the year #3 in the nation, while they sit now with 4 losses and might not become bowl eligable and their wins all have been close. Riding a 3 game losing skid, they seem as if a loss to Vandy isnt out of the question with a loss to ND. Tennesses (3-4, 2-4) schedule has went as follows:
UAB: 17-10 (Win)
at Florida: 16-7 (Loss)
at LSU: 30-27 (Win)
Ole Miss: 27-10 (Win)
Georgia: 27-14 (Loss)
at Alabama: 6 - 3 (Loss)
S. Carolina: 16-15 (Loss)
Remainder: ND, Memphis, Vandy, Kentucky
Then there is always another team that the Media will hype up based on either scheduling, talent returning or recruiting. This years media mogul was Purdue. Purdue had all the makings of a program set to win the Big Ten. They have no Michigan or OSU, and had both Iowa and ND at home. Purdue (2-6, 0-5) started the year #13 and have became the worst team in the Big Ten. Purdue has went:
Akron: 49-24 (Win)
at Arizona: 31-24 (Win)
at Minnesota: 42-35 (Loss)
Notre Dame: 49-28 (Loss)
Iowa: 34-17 (Loss)
Northwestern: 34-29 (Loss)
at Wisky: 31-20 (Loss)
at PSU: 33-15 (Loss)
Remainder: Mich St., Illinois, Indiana
My question: Who had too much preseason hype?
