Biggest Challenge between BG and Mich

This might even merit a vBet, but who will give us our closest game between now and the Michigan game?

Last year we played these same five teams in the same sequence after we lost to PSU (with the locales reversed of course)

2005: MSU 35-24
No Ringer and no Coach to speak of? Unless they fire JL after this Saturday no way MSU hangs tough.

2005: @IU 41-10
Same-o, same-o. Yawn.

2005: @Minn 45-31
I had forgotten the kind of game they gave us last year. Can you believe anybody hung 578 yards on AJ Hawks D? Can you imagine anyone doing it this year? This could be a payback game for our D.

2005: Ill 40-2
Never would have thought this coming into the year, but this one gets my vote for the toughest. There may be more to their playing Iowa and MSU tough than those teams looking ahead. Juice is getting better every week and they did bring in some talent this year that could be ready to contribute. God forbid TV turns it into another night game.

2005: NU 48-7
Fitzgerald will win some games down the road. Not this year. And this late in the season what little talent they have will be pretty banged up - especially after back to back games at Michigan and at Iowa.

With the biggest weakness seeming to be rush D, I'll go with Minnesota.

Yeah but I doubt Minny will have a back like Maroney in the backfield this year (not sure exactly who their starter is, wasn't the heir apparent ineligable or something?) and they lost their all-everything center, plus it's in the Shoe. I'm not so worried about Minny. I guess my vote goes to Sparty, but then again they could fall apart and it could be a total blowout, you never know.

It's always harder to win on the road, so I would go with MSU. However, there's no way in the world that they'll beat scUM this weekend, so they will have lost 3 in a row coming into our game. Accordingly, I think Minnesota will be the tougher game. They hung pretty tough with scUM, although that game was at the Metrodome.

MSU is always good for one upset a year. Let us never forget 1998. Juice Williams doesn't play like a freshman by any means, though, that's for sure. Should make for some interesting games. There will be huge OSU crowds at East Lansing and Urbana-Champaign.

MSU is still the toughest game on the schedule, even w/out Ringer. That said, getting their heart ripped out by ND, and then stomped on by the Illini will ruin them for the season,IMO. Plus, the offense was still not jelling last year when we played them-it finally did in the 4th quarter-, that is obviously not the case this year. Minnehaha will be the 2nd biggest challenge, IU, Ill, and NW are pure cannon fodder/stat stuffing for Troy's Heisman run.
