OT Josh “Jimmy” Simmons (Official Thread)

I know the injury looked bad when it happened especially since it appeared to be non contact, but has anything even been said about whether he's done for the season or not? ( judging by how it looked I have to assume he is)

Edit: Just saw that Day said in the post game presser that it was probably as bad as it looked and he wasn't hopeful about Simmons returning this season. He was awaiting updates from the medical staff.

I though this loss was bigger than the game loss. In theory there is still a way to the B1G championship and Natty after losing to Oregon. It will be a lot harder without Simmons.
I'm just catching up on individual threads but this would be very bad...it's not hyperbole to say Simmons was probably the most important player on our offense and he was coming into his prime this year. We're going to have to think hard about how to mitigate this loss, and keep our QB from getting crushed. Not to knock a player, but Zen is a significant downgrade at LT and that could be a big liability.

As for Simmons, speedy recovery my guy.

Ohio State Left Tackle Josh Simmons Entering 2025 NFL Draft

151450_h.jpg

A redshirt junior in terms of eligibility, Simmons could have played one more season of college football, and his absence from Ohio State’s Senior Day ceremony seemingly left the door open for Simmons to stay at Ohio State for another season.

Now, however, Simmons is confirmed to be leaving Ohio State for the NFL, leaving OSU in need of two new starting offensive tackles for next season with Donovan Jackson – who moved from left guard to left tackle after Simmons’ season-ending injury – and Josh Fryar both set to conclude their Ohio State careers in the College Football Playoff.
