OSU/PSU LB Depth (split from Dorian Bell thread)

The discussion was at one point relevant to Dorian but has started to really branch off in some other directions, so I have split it off...

Some of you need to stop with the cursing in the recruiting forum...I am sick and tired of asking and am going to start handing out vacations.

ePKOoTms that is also assuming those guys arn't kicked off the team by this year or nxt. Isn't Bowman off the team. I could be wrong, it's kind of hard to keep track off all the suspensions and arrest you guys have had recently. Your program is a mess.:oh::io:

Well it must not be that hard to keep track off because Bowman is the only one. We are THREE DEEP ACROSS THE BOARD AT LB WITH 4* LBs PERIOD!

Bell wouldn't start as a freshman at tOSU? Why not...Your starting LBs in '08 are gone after the season is over, you know it and I know it so why your pretending you rotate LBs every other series is beyond my comprehension. Sabino will probably rack up 12 tackles all year long while not redshirting and you'll be proud that a 5* LB blew up some walk-on that plays for Youngstown State or Troy...that is awesome BRAH! [Okay...now I'm shittalkin]

I'm sure they will see ST play which is likely needed to kick it up a notch on STs but in any game that matters JL, Freeman and Terry are going to be on the field for 95% of the snaps if the game matters. I think the more appropriate question is how often will your converted LBs turned DEs get blown off the ball on 2nd or 3rd down when teams run draws right at them.

It is kind of hard for me to remember the LBs names when you got a JUCO starting at LB but want to claim LB U...LMFAO, certainly doesn't work like that. Terry? Constantly injured. Freeman...He wouldn't start in this HYPOTHETICAL situation because JL would certainly start, Lee & Colasanti would likely flank JL...we'll see who has the better respective senior season between Lee & JL for real though in '08 and that should be interesting. I thin Lee had 138 tackles last year.

I am well aware that stars mean nothing, but when crap is thrown around such as 'our 2nd and 3rd string would start for them' it is clearly an effective way to illustrate depth. I'm not suggesting you would trade your LBs for Penn State's, or that I would want tOSU's LBs instead of the ones we have but if you just look at LBs brought in we rival anyone.

It is also worth pointing out that we aren't switching 2 or 3 to DE or trying to work any of them in at FB - they are LBs period. You are deeper at S & DB but we have Nick Sukay who was a 4* safety, Chaz Powell who was a 4* safety and both have 4 more years of eligibility respectively.

#1 CB from '06 in Junior AJ Wallace. 4* Senior ATH Lydell Sargaent opposite AJ Wallace. 4* freshman S/DB D'Anton Lynn.

The bottom line is Penn State's depth at LB and on the DL rivals tOSU so that bullshit talk about tOSU being so far ahead of Penn State and the rest of the Big 10 or however it was worded is false. Might want to take a look at the respective DL & LB depth and compare - your far from way ahead. Secondary you are.

LOL. If I didn't give out so much rep in the past 24 hours, you'd be dinged for sure. You sir, are an idiot. But then again, what should I expect from a Penn State fan.

Sorry, your rants are dripping with hypocrisy. You throw a fit because some on a buckeye board dare to not share your level of respect for your backups (oh the horror!), yet you downgrade our starters, and say they'd probably be 3rd string, without even knowing our 2 year starting LB by name. Your complaints ring hollow.

If you don't even know about our starters, especially one who had a big game vs PSU last year, why would we listen to your opinion on our backups?
And the only starting LB from Ohio State that would start at Penn State is JL - the other two [Terry and whoever else would be on the bench]...likely behind our 2nd string LBs - the 2nd and 3rd string tOSU LBs certainly would not be starting at Penn State.
You complain about uneducated hyperbole, and then toss out droves of your own.

Ridiculous.

You want to know why Bell wouldn't start here as a freshman? Because he's a freshman. And our current backup LBs know the system, have experience in huge games, and are much better than you think. Like a few have said before; Bell is a fantastic player. But he's a junior in high school right now. Our backups will all have had at least one year of college experience, training and knowledge before he even suits up.

It's unbelievable that you're even arguing at this point. You're taking offense like we're saying that PSU's LBs are terrible. We didn't say that. All we said was that we like our LBs, and that we don't care if your LBs are four-star players. Our staff has shown that it can take a non-highly recruited player and turn him into a starting NFL LB. Stars don't mean anything. Stop bringing it up. Seriously, stop! You're going to do it again, I know it, but at least try not to.

It's hard for you to remember OSU's LBs names because you simply don't know Ohio State football. You've proven that multiple times in this thread, so don't try to make excuses. You said that Marcus Freeman would sit the bench behind your beloved four star backup LBs. If I didn't know you were serious, that would actually be a fantastic joke.

ENOUGH WITH THE STAR TALK! STARS MEAN NOTHING IF THE PLAYERS DON'T DEVELOP!

Trying to read your argument pained me too greatly to get all the way through it random ignorant Penn State fan. However, I did get to the part where you fall over backwards about your backup linebacker's star ratings and in the same breath talk trash about Sabino who is higher rated than all of your backup linebackers as a 5* (which is meaningless anyways as everyone else has pointed out). For this hypocrisy, combined with your ignorance, arrogance, obnoxiousness, and downright stupidity, have some negative rep from me.
