I don't know, I thought we stopped the rolling screens better in the second half, but they exploited that with some QB draws and plays to the middle of the field. It's almost like Walker set it up that way...go wide, spread them out, and then hit the seams in the second half. And they executed it to the T.

Guys, I think everyone, including some folks on this board totally underestimated Northwestern. This is a team that barely lost at TCU, which is a vegy good CUSA team, then played host and played close with Arizona State, which will challenge USC for the Pac-10 this year, then played Kansas, which is a drastically improved team the last few years. Then they have to go up to the dome and play the Golden Gophers, and we call know what a juggernaut they can be on the turf.

This is a very good 2-3 team. I am interested to see how their Big10 schedule goes.

I think the reason the rolling screens were defended better is, they ran less of them . Once they were able to start throwing the ball downfield they didnt need to run them to get the yardage anymore.

Everyone should have seen that Justin Zwick has got to grow into the game at this level and until he does its going to be alot of nail biters each and every game and we will have our troubles this year. He is the starter and unless something terrible happens, I'd imagine Coach Tressel will stay with him for these next three years. Justin Zwick really didn't wake up until the 4th quarter but had a few glimpses of leadership and thats what he is going to have to build on. HE IS YOUNG !!! .. it may take until next year before he calms down and learns to read the defenses better and learns to lead his offense for a complete game. Some QB's take that long. For some reason Coach Tressel sees something in Ross and we also have to live with that this year. He is a GREAT kid, but no he has not a lick of vision and is way way too tentative going through the holes BUT he still is a Buckeyes (even if he shouldn't be starting) . Pittman will get his time in the Sun and so will HAW . We'll have to wait until Coach Tressel thinks they have matured into that position too. Popping a blood vessel will not cure our offensive troubles. I do think our offensive line did a little better but still has alot to work on (no not great). Think of all the new young kids coming in we have ... it will come.. later this year, next year who knows, but it will happen SOON !! Have Faith and don't beat your dog.
If you look at the teams Coach Tressel has had , maybe its not that he coaches that terrible but that he's played the game too the talent that he has (or had in the past) and to their maturity levels of the game. Craig Krenzel was not a great passer but had a champion mentality and won a National Championship. Evidentally he was right in that aspect not to start the "Gunslinger" , who knows maybe he made alot of bad decisions in practice. Alls I know is Coach Tressel and Krenzel led us to a National Championship. I know there will be more Big Ten Titles and Championships and especially Tsun Victories with him.
Now, Coach Tressel sees something in Justin Zwick and no matter which QB is in there they'd have to grow into the position and BOTH would make alot of mistakes until they learn the system. I know we as Buckeyes expect to win all our games each and every year but if you look at this team there is alot of areas that needed help. YES BK27 I hate losing and I hate some of the aspects of our offensive scheme and I totally do not like zone blocking (too much room for errors on our kids blocking IMO) and the run game give me stomach aches BUT think of all the O-line and RB talent coming in next years Think of all the kids that have already commited as well as Pittman and HAW to top it off!!! WOW ... its not that bad ... YEA IT SUCKS and HURTS!! We will have more bright spots to look forward too. More than NW will in the future I bet but ya gotta give em credit for this years win.
Once every 50 or so years is not a bad thing to give to NW ... they outhustled us and had out defense out there all day long. Give them credit.

:osu2: Have Failt, It hurts but I'd still rather be a Buckeye :osu2:

Dude, you hate to say you're a Buckeye fan if it turns out the team is full of rapists or that they buy their grades with cash...not because they lose a football game. I'm as upset about the loss as anyone, but let's keep a little perspective here.
Well said, GOD FINALLY !!! DAMN be upset we lost but we had alot of things to work out even before this game. If anyone didn't see that before this game then you had blinders on. Who knows when or how long its going to take this offense and its QB to mature enough to take over games , BUT thats no reason to hate your team !!! Have some faith ... feel the pain but mostly remeber its a GAME !!!

Wisconsin fans are terrible. I had to live among them for nearly 6 years. I almost punched a good Friend of mine (Wisky fan) on a number of occasions :)
You think you got it bad with just a freind Loky . My father-in-Law was born and raised in Wisconsin. I can't punch him (not only cuz he's my wifes dad but also he has alot of guns - big time hunter  ). I have to hear it for a whole year how they beat us ... WE CAN NOT LOSE THAT GAME !!!

Art,
How can you say you would rather loses to norwestern than michigan?
Whio is the scUM fan now!
ummmm.....I didn't say that. Clarity did. But, I would agree with him. What he said was that he would hate to lose to Michigan more....how does that make him a scUM fan? It should say quite the opposite.
