Lol I know this was mostly factious but yeah I expect quite a few recruits to open up after this mess and not all of them despite being highly ranked are going to be type you want. Anyone caught looking for handouts once I wouldn't touch for fear they'll do it again. Be it from a shoe company a booster etc...

Less than two weeks ago, Ohio State's basketball program did not have one recruit in the 2018 recruiting class.
Now, it has four.
Chris Holtmann and his coaching staff received verbal commitments from Jaedon LeDee, Duane Washington, Luther Muhammad and Justin Ahrens all within a week and as of Thursday evening, had the ninth-ranked 2018 class in the country according to 247Sports.
The September surge didn't come as a complete surprise to Holtmann, despite the slow start with the 2018 cycle.
"I wasn't panicking a month ago. I wasn't panicking two weeks ago. As a staff, I said about nine or 10 days ago, 'The dam is about to break,'" Holtmann said. "Did I expect that number in a week? No. But you feel when you're having conversations with family members and recruits that good things are about to happen."
While Holtmann remained confident throughout the process, his motivating words to his coaching staff might have been needed, especially to assistant coach Ryan Pedon.
Pedon said Thursday that Holtmann pulled him aside a few weeks ago to reassure him of the plan that the Ohio State coaching staff had put in place.
"It was something personally, I probably needed at that time," Pedon said. "Coach Holtmann said, 'Listen, we can't succumb to pressure.' Anytime you take over a job with the magnitude of this, you have to be built to handle adversity, and certainly we have had some adversity."

I'd say our best chance is Richardson now, with him visiting next weekend.
I believe Nembhard will be committing to Florida pretty soon. Locke I don't even think of as a PG, to me he's an ace shooter CG who is best off the ball, and I think we were out of it for him once we got Washington.
no idea which way the Dotson domino is going to fall but obviously not to us.
the whole Weaver thing is in limbo right now. he was going to commit to USC. then they got in trouble. now I have no idea what he is going to do but I get the sense the staff are no longer prioritizing him the way they were before.
I have real hope about Richardson, though. I think he's a decent possibility to end up our PG in the class, and he would be a great get. huge complement in the backcourt to guys like Washington and Muhammad.

this is not osu-related, but '18 shooting guard tyler herro has decommitted from wisconsin. this is a dagger for the badgers, as herro has catapulted while dominating the aau scene. he's an absolute scoring stud whom we won't at all want to face. i'm not certain where herro is leaning (duke?), but he can write his own ticket.
edit: this is why most non-blue blood coaches don't like seeing their commitments (and targets) playing great during aau. progress is a double-edged sword.

Can't tell if comment is facetious or not. So maybe you don't need an answer.
But, anyways, he visited Bryce Hamilton yesterday, trying to ensure Bryce makes it to his visit next weekend.
They are pursuing Ramey.
And apparently they reached out to Herro right after Herro decommitted from Wiscy.

Pretty devastating to lose him a month before NSD. He definitely blew up during AAU, and I'm guessing Kentucky, Duke, UNC, etc. got in his ear at the Team USA camp.
Apparently he sees himself as a one-and-done type prospect, so I'm guessing he'll head somewhere better suited to that method than Wisconsin.

I would think that maybe some of big-time programs might be already booked but I guess if he is a one and done type player a coach probably would make room

Edit: when I say a coach needs to make room, quite a few coaches have spent quite a bit of time recruiting guys that might be of equal talent so they might not want to get involved with another recruit and turn some guys off.

yeah, wisconsin generally brings frosh along pretty slowly. Not that he wouldn't have an opportunity to succeed there or hone his skills, but if his goal is to get to the nba as quick as possible, wisky probably isn't the destination for anyone. I really don't think holtmann is much different in this regard. matta would showcase a frosh, so I could see where he could maybe draw that type of kid, but I don't see any chance he ends up here. would love to have him though, good kid and really good scorer.
